52nd Annual Grammy Awards

Tonight was the "52nd Annual Grammy Awards" and for those of you who are as obsessed with music as I am then you know that the Grammy's are like Christmas. I was going to give you a list of all the winners but then I realized that it would take me forever to do that because I wanted to give you my opinions on each and every one. So as you can see if I wrote down every winner plus my thoughts on them we would be here for days and that's no fun. Therefore I have decided to only talk about my favorite and least favorite performances and i'll talk about the four biggest categories in my book. Lets get started.
My favorite performance was Beyonce's. I thought she rocked the house with her compilation of If I Were A Boy and Alanis Morissettes song You Outta Know. Beyonce has one of the greatest voices ever in my opinion and she definatly didn't dissapoint me tonight. With her killer vocals and her amazing dance skills I don't know how you couldn't love her performance.
The other performance I loved was the tribute for Michael Jackson which was done by Celine Dion, Jennifer Hudson, Carrie Underwood, Smokey Robinson and Usher. The clips behind the performers was done in 3-D and they showed the greatest pictures of MJ. As I looked at the pictures of Michael and as I listened to the words in the song I started to cry. He truely is the King and his music and his beautiful soul will live forever.
My least favorite performance of the night was that of Taylor Swift and musical legend Stevie Nicks. You do not know how much it hurts me to write that but I'm here to tell the truth and that my dear friends is the honest truth. I was so stoked for Taylors performance because I think she is unbelievable. She is my favorite female artist so you can imagine how excited I was. But I felt like through the whole performance I was waiting for something amazing to happen and it never did. The only thing good about it-in my opinion-was the way Taylors and Stevies voices sounded together. But i'm telling you when they started to sing You Belong With Me I felt like I was watching an episode of Hee Haw. I sincerely hope that future performances by my dear Taylor are much better than tonights.
Okay so on to the awards.

Album of the Year is the most important award and this year it went to Taylor Swift for her second album Fearless. Even though I was still upset over her not so stellar performance I wasn't to upset to not freak out over her win. I recently reviewed this album so if you've read it you understand why she won this award. The nominees in this category were:
Taylor Swift (Fearless)
Beyonce (I Am...Sasha Fierce)
The Black Eyes Peas (The E.N.D.)
Lady Gaga (The Fame)
and
Dave Matthews Band (Big Whiskey And The Groogrux King)
All of the nominees deserved to be there but Taylor deserved the win and i'm so glad that she got it. When she received the award she did make me tear up because she was so happy and her acceptance speech was so sweet and sincere. Congradulations Taylor Swift!
Next up we have...
Record of The Year
The nominees were:
Kings of Leon with Use Somebody
Beyonce with Halo
Black Eyed Peas with I Gotta Feeling
Lady Gaga with Poker Face
and
Taylor Swift with You Belong With Me
And the Grammy went to...Kings of Leon with Use Somebody! *crowd cheers*
I will not lie to you so believe me when I say that I was shocked when this award went to Kings of Leon. I am a huge fan of theirs don't get me wrong but I was certain that the award would go to Taylor Swift or Beyonce. That said Kings of Leon is a great group and they deserve this award. Their album "Only By The Night" is one of my all time favorites and i'll be reviewing it soon. Caleb Followill-the lead singer-has on of the most original and sexy voices i've ever heard. You'll read this when I review the bands album but i'll say it now too, go out and buy their music! Alright lets keep this going. Next we have...
Song of The Year
The nominees were:
Single Ladies(Put A Ring On It) by Beyonce
Poker Face by Lady Gaga
Pretty Wings by Maxwell
Use Somebody by Kings of Leon
and
You Belong With Me by Taylor Swift
The Grammy went to Beyonce for her "greatest video of all time" (according to Kanye atleast) Single Ladies. I disagree with this award going to Beyonce because I think that You Belong With Me is a better song and Taylor Swift deserved this award. But I can't change that so congradulations Beyonce.
The last award i'll be talking about is...
Best New Artist
The nominees were:
Zac Brown Band
Keri Hilson
MGMT
Silversun Pickups
and
The Ting Tings
And the Grammy went to Zac Brown Band. I'm not trying to brag here but I knew they would win this award. This is the kind of band you listen to when you're chilling out at a barbeque with your friends and family. They just make you smile and have a good time. They deserved this win in my book but I also would have liked to see MGMT take this one.
So there you have it folks my opinions on the Grammys. If you watched them or you saw clips of them leave me a comment and let me know what your thoughts were. Also if you'd like to check out the complete list of winners and nominees go to www.grammy.com/nominees
Keep on rockin' out my fellow music lovers!

Taylor Swift

Taylor Swift "Fearless" 2008

Fearless: I've read that Taylor Swift said that this song is "about the perfect first date I haven't had yet" This song really is about the perfect first date. The girl in the song is so crazy about this boy and she gets butterflys everytime she's near him. She would do anything for this boy and when she's with him she's going to be fearless. I love this song because she talks about everything you feel when you are out with someone you really care about. "Well you stood there with me in the doorway my hands shake, i'm not usually this way but you pull me in and i'm a little more brave. It's a first kiss, it's flawless, really something..it's fearless."

Fifteen: These are some of the greatest lyrics of all time in my opinion. Written all by Taylor this song talks about what it's like when you are fifteen. When I heard this song for the first time I almost cried because it's so beautiful. Also when I heard it I was speechless because every word in this song is exactly how I felt when I was fifteen. It talks about how when you are that age something like not getting a boy to like you feels like the end of the world. How when you are fifteen you believe a lot more than you do when you are older. In the booklet you get with the cd you can read that Taylor Swift said when she was recording this song she cried and if you take my word for it and give it a listen you'll understand why.

Love Story: I'm pretty sure that almost everyone has heard this song because when it first came out it was SUPER huge. The song is great the video is beautiful and as usual Taylor Swift is amazing. This song is about the "Romeo and Juliet" type romance. She's in love with this boy who's perfect in every way to her and he loves her too. They have some hard times because the father doesn't want them to be together but then in the end they have their fairytale romance. This is the song that should play in Disney movies when the princess finally gets her prince. "Romeo take me somewhere we can be alone. I'll be waiting all there's left to do is run. You'll be the prince and i'll be the princess it's a love story baby just say yes."

Hey Stephen: I like this song because it's about a boy that she can't help but have a crush on. He's so sweet and cute that she really cannot stop herself from liking him. This is a very happy song that kind of reminds me of the song Stay Beautiful off of Taylors first album Taylor Swift. It's not like a lot of songs where the song is about how deeply they love someone. This song is a light and fun song about a boy she's crushing on. Do not quote me on this but I read that this song was written about Stephen from Love And Theft which was a band that opened for her on one of her tours.

White Horse: I love this song. Man does Taylor Swift know how to write the best break-up songs. This song is about a boy who cheats on her (as you can see in the music video) but it's not as angry and fast as Should've Said No and Picture to Burn. Those two are the perfect "my boyfriend cheated on me, it's been a few days and now i'm not hurt i'm just pissed off" songs. White Horse is the perfect "my boyfriend cheated on me, I just found out about it and now i'm heartbroken" song. In the song he's trying to get back with her but she can't forgive him. She says that she isn't a princess and their love wasn't a fairytale and she knows this now. But then at the end she says that she's going to find that true fairytale love someday, which is something I think everyone should believe in. "I'm not your princess, this ain't our fairytale but i'm gonna find someone someday who might actually treat me well."

You Belong With Me: Let me ask you something. Is their a guy you're friends with that you have a mad crush on but he doesn't know? Are you the kind of girl that dances around your room and you're just a complete goof? Are you the one that's on the bleachers instead of being out on the field with the cheerleaders? The kind of girl who wears t-shirts instead of short skirts? Well if you answered yes to those then you really should listen to this song, I mean it's as if it was written for you. This song is a very fun song that will make you get up and sing along with it but it also has a great meaning. No wonder it's gotten all the success it has.

Breathe: This is another breakup song but it's very different from White Horse. This song is about a breakup that she didn't really want to happen but it was inevitable. It breaks her heart to break up with him and see him hurt but she knows deep down that they aren't meant for eachother. I think many of us can relate to this song because sometimes you are with someone who you truely love. You know them so well and you don't know what to do without them, but you know that you aren't the ones for eachother and you must move on. "Music starts playing like the end of a sad movie, it's the kinda ending you don't really wanna see. Cause it's tragedy and it'll only bring you down, now I don't know what to be without you around. And we know it's never simple never easy, never a clean break no one here to save me. You're the only thing I know like the back of my hand. And I can't breathe without you, but I have to breathe without you."

Tell Me Why: Fantastique song because oh so many of us have been there. You're dating a guy and he is a complete jerk. He's constantly bringing you down and you try to look past it because you love him but you can't. All you want to do is ask him why he is treating you so badly. He thinks that you're bulletproof but you're not. He doesn't seem to realize that the words he says and the things he does hurt you. "I'm sick and tired of your attitude, i'm feeling like I don't know you. You tell me that you love me then cut me down. And I need you like a heartbeat but you know you got a mean streak, makes me run for cover when you're around. And here's to you and your temper yes I remember what you said last night. And I know that you see what you're doing to me, tell me why."

You're Not Sorry: Our dearest Taylor Swift does it again. What has she done you ask? She has yet again written a fantastique song that you feel was written about you. "All this time I was wasting hoping you would come around. I've been giving out chances every time and all you do is let me down." This is about a guy who only wants to be with you when he isn't busy with other girls. It doesn't matter to him at all how you feel. You like him so much so you keep waiting for him to change even when it's obvious he's not going to. Then one day you wake up and realize that his sorry's don't mean a thing and you shouldn't be sitting around waiting for him. "You don't have to call anymore, I won't pick up the phone. This is the last straw, don't wanna hurt anymore. And you can tell me that you're sorry but I don't believe you baby like I did before. You're not sorry..no no no."

The Way I Loved You: Remember what I said about Taylor Swift having a song for everything you've ever felt? Not trying to toot my own horn here but I was right. So many of us have felt everything that is in this song. She is talking about a boy who seems perfect, a prince charming of sorts. He treats her so well and he gets along with her family. All of her friends are jealous that she's found him and she really couldn't ask for anything more. "He opens up my door and I get into his car and he says you look beautiful tonight, and I feel perfectly fine." He may be prince charming but he is absolutly one hundred percent nothing she wants. What she wants is what she had with her ex boyfriend. Even though they could fight like crazy and he'd make her insane she's in love with him. "I miss screaming and fighting and kissing in the rain. And it's 2am and i'm cursing your name. You're so in love that you act insane and that's the way I loved you."

Forever And Always: If you saw Taylor on The Ellen DeGeneres Show then you know that this song was written about our dear Joe Jonas from The Jonas Brothers. If you keep up on all of that celebrity gossip then you know that Joe and Taylor dated and he broke up with her. In typical Taylor fashion instead of getting upset about it she wrote a song about it. You can relate to this song because it's about how she cares for this guy and he told her he loves her and he wants to be with her always. But then they start drifting apart and he doesn't call her as much. Next thing you know BAM he breaks up with you. So if you're going through something like that then here you go check out this song.

The Best Day: This song was written by Taylor for her mom Andrea. It's one of the sweetest songs I think ever written. She talks about how great her mom is and how she's always been there for her. Taylors mom is her best friend so if you can relate to that then I definatly think you should check out this song. "I know you were on my side even when I was wrong. And I love you for giving me your eyes. Staying back and watching me shine and I didn't know if you knew so I'm taking this chance to say that I had the best day with you today."

Change: This song is about not giving up and keeping your head held high even when everythings wrong and it doesn't look like it's ever going to get better. If you work hard and you stay positive then things will change. "Tonight we stand, got off our knees. Fight for what we've worked for all these years. And the battle was long, it's the fight of our lives. But we'll stand up champions tonight. It was the night things changed. Do you see it now? These walls that they put up to hold us back fell down. It's a revolution, throw your hands up cause we never gave in."

BONUS

Jump Then Fall: I read that Taylor said that this song is about "taking a chance and falling desperatly into a summer love." This song is so sweet it makes you smile. She's absolutly crazy about this boy and she can't get enough of him. "I like the way you sound in the morning. We're on the phone and without a warning I realize your laugh is the best sound i've ever heard." I feel like the boy in this song might have had a really bad break up or something and now feels scared to get into a relationship. She's saying that he doesn't need to worry about getting his heart broken because she would never hurt him. "Whoa i'm feeling you baby. Don't be afraid to jump then fall. Jump then fall into me. Baby i'm never gonna leave you. Say that you wanna be with me too. Cause i'm gonna stay through it all so jump then fall."

Untouchable: This song is about wanting someone so bad but you can't. You realize that you can't have them and you try and walk away. You try to forget these feelings that you have for them. But as soon as you see them again your left wanting them again. Left wanting someone who's untouchable. It's heartbreaking and unfortunatly many of us have gone through something just like this. (This is a cover song originally done by Luna Halo. I recommend listening to both versions. I like Luna Halo's version but I like Taylors more because the lyrics are more powerful when the song is slower and it's more of a ballad.)

Come In With The Rain: This song is about a guy who keeps playing games with this girl and it's hurting her but she loves him so she's always going to be there for him. She's not giving up on him but she's not going to chase him either. If he wants to step up and be with her then she'll be there waiting for him. If you feel like this then this is a song you should listen to, it will speak the words that you can't seem to.

SuperStar: I suppose this song could have two meanings. If you really dig deep then it could be about a boy that you have a crush on and put up on a pedestal. He's not a real superstar but to you he is. However I think it's about someone who actually is famous. You see these actors or singers and you wish that you could be with them. You have posters of them on your walls and you go to their concerts or watch their movies. You love them but you know that you can't have them because they are famous. So if you sit around and daydream about your celebrity crush then listen to this track. "So dim that spotlight, tell me things like I can't take my eyes off of you. I'm no one special just another wide eyed girl who's desperatly in love with you. Give me a photograph to hang on my wall. Superstar."

The Other Side Of The Door: Man oh man do I love this song. Almost every single girl out there can relate to this song, I know I can. I must be honest and say that I feel bad for guys sometimes because us girls can be rather confusing. We say we want you to leave us alone when sometimes that isn't what we want at all. We might say we don't need you but thats a big lie. That's why I love this song so much because that is what Taylor is talking about. This guy upset her and now because she's angry she's saying all of these things that she doesn't mean. Please please please listen to this song because it really is fantastique and SO relatable for us silly girls. "I said leave, but all I really want is you to stand outside my window throwing pebbles screaming i'm in love with you. Wait there in the pouring rain coming back for more. And don't you leave cause I know all I need is on the other side of the door."

Taylor Swift

Taylor Swift "Taylor Swift" 2006 (Deluxe, 2008)

Tim McGraw: This is the song that started it all. I love this song so much because it's so well written and so honest. It's about a summer love which many of us out there have had before. She talks about how much she cares about him and how they spent all of their time together, but then as soon as September comes things change and their summer romance comes to an end. After things are over between the two of them she hopes that when he hears this certain song he thinks of her. One of the reasons I love Taylor Swift is because she is so open and honest in her lyrics. For every mood you are in theres a Taylor Swift song for it.

Picture To Burn: Ever been cheated on? Really super pissed off about it? Well here's your song. Picture to Burn is about a guy that she dated and he cheated on her. She's saying that she doesn't care anymore and now he's just "another picture to burn." So many of us have felt like that before, so if you're going through something like this then this seriously is the perfect song for you. I also am a fan of this song because the lyrics are comical. "I hate that stupid old pickup truck you never let me drive. You're a redneck heartbreak who's really bad at lying. So watch me strike a match on all my wasted time, as far as i'm concerned you're just another picture to burn."

Teardrops On My Guitar: This is one of my favorite tracks off of this album because it's so relatable. Many people have had a crush on someone who doesn't like them back and that is what this song is about. She's in love with this boy who's her best friend and he's in love with someone else. She decides not to tell him her true feelings for him but inside she's heartbroken. She say's that this girl better give him all of her love because he's worth it. She is letting her own heart break so he can be happy with someone else. One of my favorite parts in this song is when she says, "So I drive home alone, as I turn out the light I'll put his picture down and maybe get some sleep tonight."

A Place In This World: Do you ever feel as if you don't fit in? Like you just don't know what you want, or who you are? Apperently Taylor Swift has felt the same way. A Place In This World is such a great song because we've all atleast once in our lives felt like we didn't fit in. We are all trying to make our mark, trying to find our place in this world. "I'm alone, on my own, and that's all I know. I'll be strong, I'll be wrong, oh but life goes on. I'm just a girl, trying to find a place in this world."

Cold As You: This song is about a girl who's in a relationship with a guy who isn't really that in to her. He's not putting his all into this relationship and she is. One of the lines I love in this song is, "So I start a fight cause I need to feel something and you do what you want cause i'm not what you wanted." He settled for her and she's resorting to starting fights just to get some emotion out of him. This song is the bitter truth and I think that is what makes it so fantastique.

The Outside: I read that this was one of the first songs Taylor Swift ever wrote. It's about how when she was younger she wasn't really in the "in" crowd. She talks about how they saw her but they never really got to know her, and maybe if they had they would have realized that she was worth getting to know. She is lonely being on the outside and she just wants them to atleast acknowledge that she's there.

Tied Together With A Smile: I know that most girls out there have felt like this and I am one of them. Sometimes you look in the mirror and don't see anything about yourself that you like. You can't see how truely beautiful you really are. Sometimes you want someone to love you and you'd do anything to get them to. You put on this fake smile so everyone thinks you're fine but on the inside you feel lost and broken. This song will definatly make you cry if you've ever felt like this. The lyrics are pure genius and unbelievably relatable. "Hold on baby you're losing it. The waters high you're jumping into it and letting go..and no one knows you cry, but you don't tell anyone that you might not be the golden one and you're tied together with a smile but you're coming undone."

Stay Beautiful: I think that this song is about a boy that she was in a relationship with and she knows every little thing about him. He is such an amazing person and he takes her breath away everytime he's near her. I think he must move away maybe for college or something because she say's that she hopes his life leads him back to her door someday. Then she says if they don't meet again she hopes he stays beautiful. This song is such a happy song it makes you smile just by listening to it.

Should've Said No: This song is another perfect song if you've been cheated on. I also found that if you change some of the words this is the perfect song if you've been betrayed by a friend. She's saying that he never should have cheated on her. He never should have put her in this position because if he hadn't things would still be amazing between them. I find this song relatable with being hurt by a friend too because a lot of us have had a close friend of ours do something with the guy we liked. Then after they do it they beg for you to forgive them and you feel like saying if they hadn't done it in the first place they wouldn't have to worry about you forgiving them. "You should've said no, you should've gone home. You should've thought twice before you let it all go, you should've known that word bout what you did with her would get back to me. And I should've been there in the back of your mind, I shouldn't be asking myself why. You shouldn't be begging for forgiveness at my feet, you should've said no, baby and you might still have me."

Mary's Song (Oh My My My): This song is so sweet and it reminds me of the movie Sweet Home Alabama because it's a country love story. It's about a girl and a boy who grew up together and their parents always thought it would be funny if they fell in love when they got older. The song starts off when the little girl is seven and the little boy is nine. She talks about how she would dare him to kiss her but then she'd run when he tried. Then it goes to when she is sixteen and they are dating. Their parents laugh because they are so happy that the kids actually got together. Then the songs talks about when they get engaged and how they'll have babies together one day. It's such a sweet song that I think everybody should listen to.

Our Song: When this song came out on the radio people-including me-went crazy. Our Song is so catchy and sweet you can't help but love it. She's talking about how she's dating this boy and she realizes one day that they don't have a song. They are together when she realizes this and he sees that something is bothering her so he asks her what is wrong. When she tells him he says, "Our song is the slamming screen door, sneakin' out late, tapping on your window. When we're on the phone and you talk real slow cause it's late and your mama don't know. Our song is the way you laugh the first date 'man, I didn't kiss her, and I should have' and when I got home before I said amen asking God if he could play it again."

BONUS TRACKS

I'm Only Me When I'm With You: The title of this track pretty much explains everything you need to know about the song. This girl doesn't feel like anybody can understand her except for this boy that she's dating. She can be a complete goof with him and he doesn't care. I really like this song because it's not just mushy love stuff but very real and (yet again) relatable. "I'm only up when you're not down. Don't wanna fly if you're still on the ground it's like no matter what I do. Well you drive me crazy half the time the other half i'm only trying to let you know that what I feel is true. And i'm only me when i'm with you." I also wanted to say that this song could be about a friendship you have with someone, or about your family.

Invisible: This song is similar to Teardrops On My Guitar because they are both about how she's infatuated with this boy but he doesn't like her back. However Invisible is a little different because in this song the boy doesn't even really know who she is. She talks about how she wants him the way he wants this other girl. She is upset because this other girl that he likes doesn't even understand him and she's never going to love him the way that the girl in the song can. "I just wanna show you she don't even know you. She's never gonna love you like I want to. And you just see right through me and if you only knew me we could be a beautiful miracle unbelieve, instead of just invisible."

Perfectly Good Heart: This song is about the first time you truely get your heart broken. She says how maybe she should have seen the signs that he wasn't in love with her, that there was a distance in his eyes that she ignored. But now even as he walks away from her she still can't believe that he would do it and that he doesn't love her. She can't see why he would break her heart and just walk away. "Why would you wanna break a perfectly good heart? Why would you wanna take our love and tear it all apart now? Why would you wanna make the very first scar? Why would you wanna break a perfectly good heart?"

Skillet

Skillet "Awake" 2009

Hero: This song is one of my favorite songs of all time. The powerful vocals of John Cooper combined with drummer, Jen Ledgers fresh voice are insane together. There are times you feel like everythings wrong and nothing will ever be right. You feel you need to speak your mind and you need to take a stand but you can't. You feel like you just need some help, you need a hero. If you are ever feeling like this then I suggest you shut your door, turn this song on and blare it.

Monster: This song is the very first song I ever heard by Skillet and i'm so glad I did because it started this great love that I have for them. "The secret side of me I never let you see. I keep it caged but I can't control it. So stay away from me the beast is ugly. I feel the rage and I just can't hold it." Do not even try to tell me you've never felt that way. Nobody is perfect and everybody has a bad side. I think thats what they are saying in this song. You're going to have bad things pulling at you, it's how you deal with them that matters. Will you succomb to the darkness or will you fight back. This is an awesome rock song that makes you want to jump around and go crazy but also has a great meaning behind it.

Don't Wake Me: Beautiful and heartbreaking are the two words that come to mind when I hear this song. "Went to bed I was thinking about you, I wanna talk and laugh like we used to. When I see you in my dreams at night, it's so real but it's in my mind. And now I guess this is as good as it gets. Don't wake me 'cause I don't wanna leave this dream. Don't wake me 'cause I never seem to stay asleep enough when it's you i'm dreaming of, I don't want to wake up." This is a great song if you've lost someone close to you whether you were in a relationship with them or not. This song says exactly how you feel. You want to sleep because when your sleeping you get to be with them in your dreams. But when you wake up they are gone.

Awake And Alive: This is a song you crank up the volume to and prepare to go crazy. "I'm at war with the world and they try to pull me into the dark. I struggle to find my faith as i'm slipping from your arms. It's getting harder to stay awake and my strength is fading fast. You breathe into me at last." This song is great because we've all been here at one point. Skillet is a Christian rock band so most of their songs are in fact about God and I think that's one of the reasons I love this one so much. Many times you try so hard to be a good person but you feel like everything is pulling you towards the bad. It's hard to keep your faith in God when everything is going wrong but then you let him in. You keep breathing and pulling for that goodness deep inside and you overcome the bad things.

One Day To Late: One day to late is another great song by Skillet with some seriously powerful lyrics. You have to live like it's the last day of your life and that's what Skillet says in this song. "Today i'm gonna try a little harder, gonna make every minute last longer. Gonna learn to forgive and forget. 'Cause we don't have long, gonna make the most of it. Today i'm gonna love my enemies. Reach out to someone who needs me. Make a change, make the world a better place. 'Cause tomorrow could be one day to late."

It's Not Me It's You: I am in love with this song. We've all had someone in our lives who isn't a good person to have there. They make you feel like all the problems are because of you when really it's not you it's them. "It's not me its you. Always has been you. All the lies and stupid things you say and do it's you. It's not me it's you. All the lies and pain you put me through, I know that it's not me it's you." You can use this song for everyone who's ever made you feel this way but for most people this song will fit best for an ex. So if you've just gotten rid of someone in your life or you know you need to because they make you feel like this turn this song up and sing along.

Should've When You Could've: Many of us have been in a relationship where we cannot trust the person. You ask them where they've been all night long and they tell you not to worry about it, that the matters over. You know this person is cheating on you and you're done putting up with it. This person could have been the one for you but it's to late now. "You should've when you could've, you're gonna miss my love girl. You should it would've been so good. You should've when I would've. Now I know i've had enough, better luck next time girl. You should, it would've been so good."

Believe: Alright you're probably going to laugh at me on this one because this song reminds me of the main characters, Edward and Bella, in the Twilight series. If you have read the book or have seen the movie for New Moon you know that in it Edward tells Bella he doesn't love her anymore. But in reality that isn't the truth at all. He tells her all of this because he knows that she would be better off without him in her life. That is the reason this song reminds me of them. "If you believed when I said I'd be better off without you, then you never really knew me at all. If you believed when I said I wouldn't be thinking about you, you thought you knew the truth but you're wrong. You're all that I need, just tell me that you still believe." He's saying he needs her to know that everything he said was a lie. She is all that he wants and needs, and he just needs her to believe that.

Forgiven: When you first listen to this song it sounds like he is talking about a girl that he has been unfaithful to. But when you really listen to it you see he's talking about God. He is saying that he has done some bad things but he knows that God will forgive him. "All the promises and lies. All the times I compromise. All the times you were denied, you have forgiven."

Sometimes: Sometimes is an honest song in my opinion. It says in the lyrics "Sometimes I don't wanna be better. Sometimes I can't be put back together. Sometimes I find it hard to believe there's someone else who could be just as messed up as me." We've all felt like this before. You don't mean to be a jerk but you just are sometimes. You feel you can't ever be how you used to be. You don't believe that anyone else in the world could possibly feel the way you do when in reality many people do. This is obvious because in this song John is singing about how he feels the same way we do.

Never Surrender: Skillet is my favorite band because they are so honest and their lyrics always say exactly how I feel. Never Surrender is unbelievable because sometimes we don't want to be ourselves, we just want to surrender. But then we find faith in God or we have a friend or family member who helps us get through all of the bad things. John says in the song that he wants to feel better and he wants this person to stay with him and never surrender. This is a fantastique track that speaks the words that we have all felt at one point in time.

Lucy: This is probably one of the saddest songs i've ever heard. It is about a girl named Lucy who has passed away and this man is heartbroken about it. I was hearing other peoples theories about this song and one person said that they believe this song is about abuse. That the man who visits her grave is responsible for her death and now he wishes he could take it all back and see her face again. It's a heartbreaking song but also beautiful.

Lady Gaga

Lady Gaga "The Fame Monster" 2009

Bad Romance: If you listen to top 40 radio I would be willing to bet super amounts of money that you've heard this song. Bad Romance is a sickingly catchy song that I myself am I huge fan of. I watched an interview with Lady Gaga where she said that this song is about loving someone so much that you even love all the bad in them. She says it right in the chorus "I want your love and I want your revenge, you and me could write a bad romance." I also love the part where she says "I want your love I don't wanna be friends." Lady Gaga really is a fantastique song writer because sometimes a "bad romance" is exactly what you want or exactly what you're going to get.

Alejandro: You could have many different interpretations of this song. Even I have a few ideas about what this song is actually about but the one that I believe most is that shes saying she doesn't want to be tied down. Alejandro loves her and shes still a girl, not a women, and isn't really ready for that kind of love and commitment. But i've heard other peoples ideas about it that make sence also. One person said that they believe that Lady Gaga is in a relationship with Alejandro but cheats with this Fernando and Roberto she mentions and she knows she needs to stop messing with all of them. Someone else said they also believe it's talking about a love triangle because she says "At this point I gotta choose, nothing to lose" All of these men want her and she knows she can't have all of them but she doesn't want just one. So as you can see there are many different ways to see this song but no matter which theory you agree with it is a great song and I recommend listening to it.

Monster: This song to me is pretty self explanatory. I might not be reading deep enough into it but I don't think I have to. She says in the song "He's a wolf in disguise, but I can't stop staring in those evil eyes" she then says "He tore my clothes right off, he ate my heart and then he ate my brain" So with those little pieces the way im taking this song is that she knows this guy is bad news but she can't help but be with him. He has her heart but then he 'ate her brain' and now she can't even see how bad of a guy he is or rather what a Monster he is. I know that 99% of girls have had this problem so if you are one of those girls listen to this song, it's for you.

Speechless: Speechless is probably my favorite track off of this record. I read that Lady Gaga/Stefani Germanotta wrote this song for her father when he was in the hospital because of heart complications due to heavy drinking. This would explain the references to alcohol and bars in the lyrics. I also read that her father didn't want to go through with the surgery and she told him that if he didn't have it and he died she'd quit the music business. That would explain the lyrics "I'll never talk again oh boy you've left me speechless." I also think this song could be coming from Lady Gagas mothers point of view. "And I know that it's complicated but i'm a loser in love so baby, raise a glass to mend all the broken hearts of all my wrecked up friends." She goes on to say "And i'll never love again" When you really think about the meaning behind this song it makes it breathtakingly beautiful and heartbreakingly sad.

Dance In The Dark: My interpretation of this song is that she's in an abusive relationship and when she "dances in the dark" she can actually be herself. But when shes with her boyfriend she breaks down. "Cause when he's looking she falls apart" I believe that Lady Gaga has hidden meanings in some of her songs. What I mean is when you first listen to this song you think this is catchy and you want to move to it. But when you really listen there's a deep meaning behind it. So if you are in a relationship with someone and you feel this way then I recommend this song.

Telephone: This track has two great voices on it, Lady Gaga and the very talented Beyonce. It is also very catchy. I can almost hear people downloading this song as their ringtone as I sit here and write this. The meaning of this song is that this guy is trying to call her after shes already made other plans because he didn't want to do anything with her. "You shoulda made some plans with me, you knew that I was free." So now he blew his shot because shes not going to drop everything just because all of a sudden he wants to do something "And now you won't stop calling me, i'm kinda busy" I know that there are many of you out there who have had this happen to you so all I have to say is...here is your song.

So Happy I Could Die: I read in an article online that Lady Gaga did an interview with MTV where she said that this song is about her fear of alcohol, drugs and addiction. At first I didn't think that could possibly be true because she says "Happy in the club with a bottle of red wine, stars in our eyes cause we're having a good time. So happy I could die and it's alright." I thought this meant that she is feeling on top of the world, everything is going great and she is so happy that if she died she would be fine. But then the more I thought about I could see a different side of it. Sometimes you get so caught up in everything like alcohol and drugs you don't take a step back and realize what you're actually doing to yourself. You are getting addicted and you could possibly be killing yourself, which at the moment might be fine with you because you're so happy you feel nothing could ever be better. But it's not really how you feel it's how the drugs and alcohol are making you feel. I had to listen to this song a few times to really see this side of it but i'm glad I did. This is a very meaningful song.

Teeth: I read that many people have said that this song has hidden meanings like some of the other tracks on this album. Well i'm sorry to burst your bubble but I really don't think it is. Feel free to prove me wrong but until then i'm going to say what I think it's about and that is sex. Plain and simple. Just letting go of everything and doing crazy and wild things. "I'm gonna love you with my hands tied." That does in fact sound rather dirty don't you think? Gotta love Lady Gaga and her creative terminolgy what with "disco stick" and all that. Someone wrote "This song is about oral sex and 'truth.' Hiding behind the physicality of the sexual act rather than getting to know the person." I think they have a very good point and I agree. So for all you people out there who still believe that there is a hidden meaning in this song feel free to leave me a comment and prove me wrong.

Orianthi

Orianthi "Believe" 2009

According To You: First things first, this is a great song to start the album off with in my opinion. It's catchy and has a lot to offer. I know that this song works for many girls out there because it's about something that almost every girl has gone through. You're dating that guy who is kind of a jerk. He critisizes what you do and you're just sick of it. Then you find the guy who thinks all of your little quirks are cute. This song is exactly talks about all of that and also shows off Orianthis amazing guitar playing. So if you're going through all of that, give this song a listen.

Suffocated: I think that this song is about a girl who is dating a guy and things are amazing in the begining, as they usually are. But then the longer they are dating the more suffocated she begins to feel and things just don't seem to be as good as they once were. I feel like I can relate to this song because I have been in the same position as have many people. That's why I think that this is such a great song because she is explaining how I feel.

Bad News: I love this song because she is saying that she knows that this person has bad news and she wants to know what it is. A lot of times people won't tell you their "bad news" because they are afraid it's going to upset and hurt you, when really you can handle it. This is a fun song to blare and sing along to aswell but it's the lyrics that make it so fantastique. "Gimme the bad news baby now don't turn away. I know the truth no matter what you say. Gimme the bad news, the bad news today."

Believe: This song actually reminds me a lot of the singer Kate Voegele. I think that Orianthi sounds a bit like her on this track and the lyrics sound like something that would come from Kate Voegele. This of course makes me love it even more because i'm a huge Kate Voegele fan. Believe is about how she was in a relationship and she got hurt. She wants to put herself back out there but she is afraid of getting hurt. This song is very relatable because many of us have been hurt and now are afraid to put ourselves out there again for fear that it will happen again.

Feels Like Home: I think that this track is about her life and how she moved out to California to persue her dreams in music. Shes saying that she was scared at first to go out on her own but once she gets there she realized that this is what shes meant to be doing. She's supposed to be in California chasing after her dreams. So therefore it feels like home.

Think Like A Man: Think Like A Man is the angry chick anthem. I adore this song because it is so on the spot its rediculous. So many of us have been in relationships where we sit by the phone and wait for the guy to call and he doesn't. Thats why I love this song because shes talking about how from now on shes going to think like a man. Shes not going to sit around and mope shes going to do what a guy would and not give a damn. These lyrics alone should make you want to go out there and check out this song. "Must be if you if the phone don't ring. Here I am obsessing, he loves me yeah he loves me not. I tell myself I should just learn to shut up. No I need to be like you."

What's It Gonna Be: This is an amazing rock song. The guitar is sick and Orianthis vocals are just fantastique. She's talking about how this guy is treating her like crap and he keeps bringing her down. She is fed up with it and she doesn't care anymore, so she's saying that if he doesn't clean up his act then she's gone.

Untogether: If you've ever wondered what it would sound like if John Mayer and Santana were mashed together then look no further. The guitar is great in this song, which isn't to surprising because Orianthi is one of the greatest guitar players ever. I mean why else would Michael Jackson want her to play with him for his This Is It tour. "I don't wanna make the same mistake again and I'm through with you. And you're not moving up any faster. I don't wanna wait for you to change. You're always gonna stay untogether." We've all felt that way about someone and now Orianthi says it in this song.

Drive Away: Drive Away is such a great song because she's talking about how she met this guy and she knew right away that they were meant for eachother. She talks about how all she wants is for them to just drive away. It doesn't matter where they go as long as they are together.

Highly Strung: Sick, wicked, crazy, intense, bad ass, unbelievable, amazing. Orianthi shows off her mad guitar skills in this song so much that it makes you want to get up and be just like her. I recommend that everyone listens to this track.

God Only Knows: This song is heartbreaking because shes talking about someone who has passed away and shes upset about it because she never had a chance to say goodbye. I read that she wrote this song partly for Michael Jackson because he was such an inspiration to her and she never got to thank him enough for everything he gave her. This is such an amazing song and it truly touches your heart.

Hardcore Superstar

Hardcore Superstar "Beg For It" 2009

This Worm's For Ennio: So I'm a fan of introducing an album with songs like this, no vocals just the music. This song is strangely beautiful to me because it has so much going on in it but at the same time not much at all. I personally get a mexican western type feel from it but then it transforms even more into something almost magical.

Beg For It: Are you a fan of the '80s hair metal scene? Yeah so am I. And here you go, you get your very own modern day version of it with Hardcore Superstar. Beg For It is one of those songs that you just want to crank the volume up to and go crazy.

Into Debauchary: Into Debauchary is the party anthem for rock lovers in my opinion. Seriously, dude just wants to forget about the problems with everything and go absolutely mental. Fantastique guitar in this one!

Shades of Gray: Okay seriously is this singer the long lost cousin of Sebastian Bach or something? Honestly they sound so much alike, which means in my book that this guy can sing!

Nervous Breakdown: I became hooked on this song as soon as I heard the first few words. "There's a method to my madness, the only way to hide my sadness." Now reading those lyrics don't think this is a sad mopey song because you would be extremely wrong on that assumption. This song is a kick ass I don't care what you say type of song.

Hope For A Normal Life: There's nothing like introducing a song with the sweet sounds of a guitar. Apparently Hardcore Superstar is aware of this because that's exactly what they did with this track. This song is much slower paced compared to the others but i'm a big fan. I think this song speaks the truth. "I did not mean to stare no, but sometimes I need to see it my way. There's some secrets I don't share, the truth will only make you sad." See what I mean? It's honest. So many times you hold things in because you know that if you don't it will just upset people around you. You don't mean to mess things up but you do sometimes and people just don't understand. And most of all you just wish you could change everything. I think that if you are going through anything like that then you should most definatly listen to this song.

Don't Care About Your Bad Behaviour: When I first saw the name of this song my mind instantly went to thinking this song was about some girl being...well bad. But man oh man was I wrong. He starts of talking about a man who clearly has had some issues and he goes on to say "I don't care about your bad behaviour, I can't save you, can't change you." And that's actually very true. You can't always change the bad people, it's life. But you can't really judge either because even though you may think you are, you probably aren't the best person you could be either.

Remove My Brain: I will not lie to you, this is a catchy song. But I really am not a huge fan of it because I dislike the lyrics. "All I really wanna to do, I want to walk all over you." Seriously?

Spit It Out: You know those moods you get in where you just want to punch something? You start yelling and then the other person yells louder and you just cannot take it. You just want them to back off and leave you alone. Yeah, well here's your song.

Illegal Fun: If this song is as read between the lines as I think it is and not just some lets party kinda song, then I think I just might like it. The way I hear it is sometimes you just have to let loose. You need to forget about what people are going to think about you and just be yourself, do something you'll enjoy. Now im not saying go out and do something illegal because you think it sounds fun, please keep your fun legal. But I love how at the end of the song he says "Lets go away for another season I don't have to explain. Don't need to have a reason, I laugh and cry with a new begining. So when I go there, I'll hide with you." Probably the best lyrics of the song in my book.

Take 'Em All Out: This dude truly has a great voice, very special. Now as for the song if you believe that "no one is pure, nothing to adore" then here you go, Hardcore Superstar has provided you with your song.

Innocent Boy: I would have to say the lyrics of this song are some of my favorite off of this album, "You lift me up just so you can push me to the ground. You make me weak, stick around this mans heading for a breakdown." I know many of you who read this feel that way sometimes. As if everyone builds you up just so they can kick you back down the next second. This is a great song but especially great if you feel that way sometimes. If you're sick of taking the crap listen to this song, it feels your pain.

Paramore

Paramore "Brand New Eyes" 2009

Careful: This is a great song to start the album off with, it's classic Paramore. If you like Misery Business you'll love this song too. I don't think i've ever heard one Paramore song where the lyrics weren't absolutely amazing, and Careful isn't an exception.

Ignorance: Ignorance is the first single off of Brand New Eyes and if you've heard it then you have only heard a preview of this amazing record. Hayley Williams in my opinion has one of the most original and beatiful voices I've ever heard. She has an edge to her that most people only dream of having. This is the perfect song to listen to when someone is trying to make you look like the bad person and you're just flat out sick of it. If you're going through something like that then this is your anthem.

Playing God: Are you sick of people telling you how you should act when they aren't the best they could be. Basically they're being a hypocrite? This song says exactly what you're feeling. "You don't have to believe me. But the way I, way I see it..Next time you point a finger I might have to bend it back and break it, break it off. Next time you point a finger i'll point you to the mirror." One of the reasons I think I love this song is because usually with lyrics like this its a slow paced song, all sad and depressing. People are telling me how to act blah blah blah. But with Paramore and this song you get the meaningfull lyrics and a song that makes you want to jump and kick things.

Brick By Boring Brick: Do you believe in fairytales? Neither does Paramore. Things aren't always going to be what you want them to be when it comes to finding "the one." My interpretation of this song is that you can't expect a prince because it's just not going to happen. There is no such thing as "prince charming" and once you grow up and realize that you'll be better off. "Well you built up a world of magic, because your real life is tragic. Yeah you built up a world of magic. If it's not real you can't hold it in your hand. You can't feel it with your heart. And I won't believe it. But if it's true you can see it with your eyes even in the dark. And thats where I want to be yeah. Go get your shovel. We'll dig a deep hole to bury the castles."

Turn It Off: Im a fan of this song because I agree with what its saying. Things are going to get worse before they get better usually, it's not fair but it's life. Things aren't always sunshine and happiness and thats what this song is saying.

The Only Exception: Most love songs are all about how great things are when you're with the person. It's all love love love from begining to end. That's why I think I love this song because with this song love love love from begining to end is not the case at all. In the begining of the song Hayley sings that her daddy has a broken heart and she watches as he tries to put it back together. Then she says she promised herself that day that she would never sing about love if it does not exist. The next part of the song shes says "But darling, you are the only exception." If you've ever felt as if love doesn't conquer all and it's not real, but then you found someone who makes you feel like the stories of true love are real, then heres your song.

Feeling Sorry: Have you ever waited around for someone to apologize for something and they just won't? You're sick of staying in the past and you just want to move forward? Well here you go. Written by Hayley Williams, Josh Farro, and Taylor York this song says everything that you're feeling about moving on. "And i'm getting bored, waiting around for you. We're not getting any younger and I won't look back 'cause theres no use. It's time to move forward."

Looking Up: Im a fan of this song because it's all about how sometimes you are just about to quit and then you realize that you shouldn't because you are just getting started. Hayley Williams said in her music journal, "Last year when we cancelled our "U.K. Riot" tour and went home I didn't know if we'd get back on the road. I sort of thought we'd run our course and it was all over. All because of failed relationships, frienships we stopped caring about each other. I started playing music for a living instead of living for playing music." She goes on to say, "Somewhere between then and now, we've grown up a little bit. I've realized it's not bad that im an individual. We all have our own thing and now we've got it. 'I can't believe we almost hung it up, we're just getting started.'"

Where The Lines Overlap: There are so many songs about long distance relationships and how they all fail and they aren't worth it. I've read that Hayley said this song is "About long distance relationships with a positive outlook." If you're in a long distance relationship and you're sick of only hearing the negative things then listen to Where The Lines Overlap.

Misguided Ghosts: Misguided Ghosts is a hauntingly beautiful song. I feel like they are talking about life yes but not just regular life. To me it's about someone who feels empty and lost. The vocals and melody on this track are beautiful. One of the most meaningful songs on this album. "Misguided ghosts, travelin' endlessly. The ones we trusted most pushed us far away. And theres no one road. We should not be the same." The simplicity of this melody mixed with the powerful lyrics makes it eerie and breathtaking.

All I Wanted: You know that feeling when you're in love and the person means everything in the world to you. Great. Now do you know the feeling when that person moves on and to you it feels like it was a dream. As if it had never happened. This song will bring tears to your eyes if you feel that way. The vocals are absolutely amazing on this track, Hayley Williams is unbelievable, absolutly unbelievable!

Adam Lambert

Adam Lambert "For Your Entertainment" 2009

Music Again: If you are a Freddie Mercury fan you'll be a fan of this song. The notes that Adam Lambert hits are exactly like the ones that Freddie Mercury has graced our ears with. The music reminds me of the song Real Wild Child by Christopher Otcasek, which was one of the songs from the movie Pretty Woman. This track is one of my favorites off of the album, its one of those songs you blare in your car when you're driving.

For Your Entertainment: Feet tapping, hip moving song. I will be honest with you and tell you that when I first heard this song-which was the first single off of this album-I was not thrilled. I was a little dissapointed at the pop aspect of it because I thought that Adam Lambert has an amazing rock vibe. But now as I listen to it more and more I realized that this is just one side of Adam Lambert, and it will keep you dancing all night long.

Whataya What From Me: "But I think you could save my life, Just don't give up. I'm workin' it out. Please don't give in I won't let you down. It messed me up. Need a second to breath. Just keep coming around. Hey. What do you want from me." I think that those might just be some of the most honest and raw lyrics i've heard in a while, which isn't surprising since P!nk is a co-writer on this track. This song is amazingly beautiful. When you are feeling like people are expecting more than you can give them and you just need a moment, listen to this song it will say what you're trying to.

Strut: If you're wondering what a song would sound like by the male version of Britney Spears..this would be it. The dance beat and the lyrics are reminiscent of almost every Britney Spears song out there. Good dance track.

Soaked: If you are a fan of Moulin Rouge or Phantom of The Opera or basically anything from Broadway I have no doubt in my mind you'll be a fan of this song. Adam Lambert shows of his vocal range like no other in this song. It's not a top 40 but it's definatly moving. I can say im a fan of this song, I can't seem to stop listening to it.

Sure Fire Winners: This song is electronic pop mixed with amazing vocals, which isn't something you come across to often. If you've just won something exciting this is the song I would play. Its fun and upbeat and the lyrics are definatly orinigal.

A Loaded Smile: Well first of I'd like to say that Adam Lambert sounds a lot like Darren Hayes from Savage Garden in this song, so if you are a fan of his voice im sure you'll like the vocals in this song. Second have you ever been in a relationship with someone where you like them but don't at the same time. One second you feel whole with them but the next you feel empty. If you answered yes to those then this is the song for you.

If I Had You: If I Had You is another high paced dance track. But aside from some of the suggestive lyrics in this song the chorus is rather nice. I find myself wondering what this song would sound like if the chorus was the same but everything else was different.

Pick U Up: This is definatly one of those songs that I think would have been better if it wouldn't have been so fast and dancey. In my opinion this would have been better as a ballad. But thats just my opinion.

Fever: Hmm..Fever..Well if you've been living under a rock and you didn't know that Adam has come out as a gay man you'd know after hearing this song. Don't get me wrong at all, I do not have ANY problem with Gay men or women-im a huge gay rights activist in fact. But this song is all about sex. Plain and simple. If this sounds like a Lady Gaga or Britney Spears song that would be because Miss Stefani Germanotta better known as Lady GaGa is a cowriter on this track.

Sleepwalker: Sleepwalker is a great breakup song. "Outside the rain's pouring down. There's not a drop that hits me. Scream at the sky but no sound is leavin' my lips. It's like I can't even feel after the way you've touched me. I'm not asleep but im not awake after the way you loved me." It reminds me of one of those songs you'd see on a reality show like The Hills after somebody gets their heart broken. This song also features the guitar stylings of Orianthi, who was the lead guitarist for Michael Jackson's This Is It Tour.

Aftermath: This is the "speak your mind no matter what anybody thinks" track on this cd. It is songs like this one that I expected to hear on Adams debut album. It's very inspirational, and the vocals are just as amazing.

Broken Open: Beautiful. I really have nothing else to say about this song. It's just...beautiful.

Time For Miracles: This track is the main track from the movie 2012 and in my opinion is one of the best songs on the cd. Im in love with this song. It's the Adam we fell in love with on American Idol and you won't be dissapointed.

Why Im Doing This Blog

Music.
Love.
Music is Love.
Atleast for me it is.
There are so many artists today trying to get there music heard. Thats where I come in. I hear it. I know that there are already magazines and websites dedicated to reviewing albums. But these are professionals and sometimes the way that they explain the quality of the record isn't easy to understand.
This is why im starting this blog. Im going to listen to an album and then post my opinions about it. Im going to say something about every song so you know which ones are the best to listen to. I also will give an update on new music that I think you all should check out.
I will be reviewing new and old albums only because it's not just the new stuff that you should be listening to. I will also right *top pick on the albums that are my favorites.
You may be asking yourselves, who is this girl? Why should I listen to her? You should listen to me because im just like you. Music keeps me going and without it I wouldn't be who I am. I read somewhere once that "music is what feelings sound like" and to me that is unbelievably true. Music is what I feel but cannot say. So now im repaying the favor by saying what I feel about the music.
So if you feel lost sometimes or you feel happier than you've ever been in your life and you are looking for that one song to fit how you're feeling at that moment keep reading my posts. If you aren't looking for that then im truly sorry.
