Concerts!

Orianthi was the first person I saw since Rick Springfield and she was INCREDIBLE! She can play that guitar like no other! She is so sweet and really included the audience which I always think is awesome. We stayed after to see if we could meet her and after waiting for a while she came out and we got a chance to talk to her and get her and the rest of the bands autographs. She is so incredibly nice! Probably one of the nicest people I have met. If she ever comes near you, you best go see her!

Two days after we saw Orianthi we went to see Everclear. Now I don't know about you but I think "Father of Mine" is classic. I have loved this band since I was little and nothing was going to keep me from going to see them. Art Alexakis is the only original member so he was the only one who met people after the show but it was still great. They put on a great show and really got the crowd going. He's also a really nice guy. He had a little difficulty spelling my name and after playing with my mom by telling her that she "screwed up on that spelling" he smiled and said "but it's a beautiful name" which of course made me smile like a fool.

Next we have My Darkest Days and Hinder. I hadn't heard of My Darkest Days until this concert and I am SO dissapointed about that. They are awesome! Great songs, great stage performance, and great guys. We got to meet them after the show and they were so cool, I loved them. I have pictures with the other members but I don't want to have this blog post be rediculously long so I didn't include them. The picture I did put up is of me and Doug who is the drummer. After they came on Hinder came on. This is the second time i've seen them and I am so glad I went again. They really do put on some of the best shows! Austin Winkler is one of my favorite singers and his stage presence is sick. Check them out!

The next concert I went to was Tesla. Now let me just tell you all that I love Tesla. "Love Song" is one of the greatest songs of all time. I had made plans to see them back in June but I ended up having to go to a wedding so there went my Tesla plans. Luckily for me they came back in October so I got to see them and they did not dissapoint. They were amazing! Every song that they played was amazing. Go see them!

Avenged Sevenfold is the last band i'm going to be talking about. I saw them about 2 weeks ago (2 days after Tesla) and they were the best concert i've been to. They had a special part of the concert where they talked about Jimmy "The Rev" Sullivan which was amazing. If you aren't a fan of Avenged Sevenfold then you might not have known about the Rev but he was their drummer who passed away last December. When they did their tribute to him everyone lit their lighters and held up their cell phones towards the sky. M. Shadows asked everyone to do that for Jimmy so he could look down on us. It gave me chills it was so beautiful. Everyone was so connected at that moment and it was just amazing. I definatly think you should see them. I know that I plan on going to see them again!

Update

Hey everyone!
I am so so sorry that I haven't been writing lately! I've been very busy, which is no excuse, but it's kept me from being able to spend a lot of time on here. I plan on putting up a few posts tonight so i'm going to keep this short and sweet. Thank you for reading!

Kelly Clarkson

Kelly Clarkson "Breakaway" (2004)

Breakaway: The moment that I heard this song I fell in love with it. I feel like these lyrics were written for me and i'm sure everybody else feels the same way. It's an inspiring song. A lot of people come from small towns and they have big dreams. However because they are from such a small place they don't believe that their dreams can come true. That's why I love this song so much because she is taking on that character. This is one of those songs that you can say is speaking the words that you feel.

Since U Been Gone: When I heard this song I was like...wow. I know that 9 out of 10 people can relate to this song. I also know that if you can relate to it you freak out when you hear it, and I mean this in a good way. In case you haven't ever heard it she's talking about a boy who was her friend and then they started dating. This girl was crazy about this guy and he didn't seem to care. Now she's realized it and is saying that she doesn't need him. "Thanks to you now I get what I want, since you been gone"

Behind These Hazel Eyes: This is a great song especially if you've just broken up with someone. She's talking about how secure she felt with this guy and how much she loved him but then they broke up and now she can't even sleep. She's broken hearted because she thought that this was the man of her dreams. The reason I love this song is because I think it sends a good message. Yes she's broken hearted but even though she is she says she won't let him see her cry. I think that too many girls go to the guy who just broke up with them and cry to them about it. Unfortunatly most of these guys don't care that you're crying. "Broken up deep inside but you won't get to see the tears I cry"

Because Of You: I'm not certain of the real meaning behind this song because I've heard that it was about her parents but then i've heard it was about a guy. Either way this song is amazing. When you listen to this song I want you to close your eyes (unless you're driving of course) because it will be even more powerful. "Because of you I never stray to far from the sidewalk. Because of you I learned to play on the safe side so I don't get hurt. Because of you I find it hard to trust not only me but everyone around me. Because of you I am afraid."

Gone: I think this song is about a guy who cheated on a girl. He thinks that he can get back with her whenever he wants because usually she take him back...but not this time. I love this because that is SO relatable. Sometimes when we care for someone we take them back no matter what. But there is a certain point when you need to cut them out of your life. I know it's hard to do that but if you don't let them go you're only hurting yourself. These guys (or girls) think that they can do whatever they want to you and you'll always take them back. You need to put your foot down, stand up strong and tell them to get lost. "You were wrong if you think you can walk right through my door. That is just so you coming back when I finally moved on."

Addicted: Feel free to argue but I believe this song is about a guy who treats this girl badly but she can't let him go. She isn't herself anymore but she cannot even breath without him. She is addicted to him. "It's like I can't breath without you inside of me. And I know I let you have all the power. And I realize i'm never gonna quit you over time"

Where Is Your Heart: I think that this song is about a guy who tells this girl how much he cares for her but she doesn't completely feel it. She is always reaching out to him and she doesn't feel like he is giving her the love that she deserves. All she wants is for him to prove to her how devoted he is to her. That's not to much to ask for, is it?

Walk Away: This is a very empowering song for women. "I want a man by my side not a boy who runs and hides" In that one lyric I think you get the gist of the song. In the song she's dating a guy and she digs him and all but he is being stupid so she's like whatever. Did that make sence? :P

You Found Me: I love, love, LOVE this song. These lyrics are beautiful and, here I go again, so relatable! Many times you find somebody and you are afraid that you're dreaming because they are so amazing. She's talking about this amazing guy who found her and she's afraid that she's dreaming because he is so great. She doesn't want to wake up because if this is a dream it's better than any reality. "You found me when no one else was looking. How did you know just where I would be? Yeah you broke through all of my confusion, the ups and the downs and you still didn't leave. I guess that you saw what nobody could see, you found me"

I Hate Myself For Losing You: Hey hey it's another relatable song. :) Basically she's saying that she was dating a guy and they broke up but this time it was all her fault. He did nothing, it's all on her. Yes sometimes it's the other persons fault that our heart got broken but sometimes it's our own fault. That is what this song is about. "I hate myself for losing you. I'm seeing it all so clear. I hate myself for losing you. What do you do when you look in the mirror and starring at you is why he's not here?" Sick vocals on this track also.

Hear Me: This song starts off sort of haunting and then BAM! She's calling for this person that she loves and waiting for them to finally hear her and come to her. I think that maybe this guy liked her but she pushed him away because she was scared. Now he's gone and she's calling for him to come back. "I need you to see i'm screaming for you to please, hear me"

I've already done a couple posts of my favorite songs of the moment and I really enjoy doing them so I think that this will be a lot of fun. The point of this is to share with you some of my favorites and hopefully get you to listen to them. Some of the people/albums/songs that I mention you'll know and some you might not but that's the fun part. I know that one of my favorite things in the world is finding a new band or song so I hope that I can help you all out by giving you these lists.

Concerts

This blog entry is going to be about concerts. I've been asked many times by people who i've seen in concert and which ones were my favorites and least favorites. I thought it might be fun to tell you all on here. I'm not going to tell you where I saw these bands/singers and what day I saw them only because this is the internet and you have to be careful with what you say. So without further ado here we go...

(2001) Kelly Clarkson: I was 11 when my mom took me to see Kelly, it was an outdoor concert. I was so excited when she came out that I cried. :P She was amazing live and I would definatly go see her again. She really connects with the audience and that was 9 years ago. I'm sure she's gotten even better throughout the years.

Grand Funk Railroad: This was another outdoor concert and I went with my mom and my friend Heather. I don't remember what year it was but I think that I was about 12 or 13. That concert was a lot of fun because Heather and I went up to the stage so we were in the middle of all the action. I also got the drummers drumstick and I thought that it was the coolest thing that could ever happen to me.

(2007) Trans-Siberian Orchestra: One word comes to my mind when I think of this concert: Amazing. I have never been to a concert like this in my life. If you have not seen Trans-Siberian Orchestra in concert yet then I suggest you get yourself some tickets. The band is incredible and the light show is simply amazing. After the concert my mom and I met the band and every one of them acted like we were best friends. They are great people and they put on a great show.

(2008) Bret Michaels: This concert started a tradition that my mom and I have. Every year on or around my birthday we go to a concert. That's my present. And let me just tell you what having Bret Michaels as your birthday present is one of the greatest things you could get. My mom took my friend Heather and I to see him for my 18th birthday and it was so much fun. He puts on a great show and he sounds just as good live as he does on an album! I want to see him again.

(2008) Finger Eleven: This was yet another outdoor concert and it was one of the coolest experiences of my life. These guys are seriously sick. They played a cover of Pink Floyds "Another Brick In The Wall" and it was terrific. That is one of my favorite memories from any concert i've been to.

(2009) Skid Row/Firehouse: My mom and friend Dan took me to see these two bands for my 19th birthday. Firehouse was really cool live and they are a band that i've wanted to see for a long time. The only thing that I have to say though is that a lot of their songs are ballads so you don't really get to jump around and stuff. So if jumping is what you're into then I wouldn't suggest seeing them. But they are great live. We also met them afterwards and they are great guys. Skid Row played after Firehouse and they kicked ass. It was fine that I didn't jump around during Firehouse because I needed to save that energy for Skid Row. They are so into there show and they make you feel like you are right up on stage with them.

(2009) Hinder/Theory Of A Deadman/Black Stone Cherry/Veer Union: The Veer Union opened the show and I must say that right before they came on my mom, Dan and I were like "The who?" But when they came on we were more like "WOOOO" They are a great rock band and they did a great job during their set. Next was Black Stone Cherry. The best thing that I can say about them is that they played a song called "Peace Is Free" and it's one of the most beautiful songs that i've ever heard. They also seem like great guys and the singer, Chris. really does include the audience. Here comes the bad news...I was bored out of my mind when they came on. I only enjoyed the one song because to me the rest sounded the same. It was just one big never ending song. If you are a fan of them that's great, this is just my opinion. Theory of A Deadman came on after BSC and they did a pretty good job. They sounded just like they do on the cd and they did pretty good at getting the audience into it. Last but certainly not least was Hinder. Oh man they were good. Wait no..good doesn't do them justice. They were brilliant! Austin Winkler seriously makes you feel like he's singing and talking to you. They sounded great, looked great, did everything great. Loved seeing them and would definatly go again.

(2009) Saving Abel/Monty Are I: I am a huge fan of Monty Are I so when they came on I freaked out. They put on an incredible show. You feel like a part of the band with them and believe me it's a great band to be a part of. I cannot begin to describe how wicked their show was but I can say that I will see them again. My mom, Dan and I also met them after the show and they were the nicest guys ever. They really take the time to talk to you and it makes you feel really connected. I had hoped we'd get to meet them so I brought my cd with me and when I gave it to Stephen he freaked out and said "where'd you get that? we aren't selling that here." I told him I brought it with me and he said "you have to stay and meet the rest of the guys and show them you have the cd" I felt so cool it was great. :P Up next came Saving Abel and they did alright. There were a few complications with the speakers and things so it didn't sound so great. I didn't enjoy them as Monty Are I and I wouldn't see them again unless they came with some other band I really liked.

(2009) Michael Bolton: Ever since I was born my mom has made me listen to Michael Bolton so when he came here we had to go. It was kind of like Firehouse because you didn't really stand up and jump around but he was great. He has one of the most beautiful voices in the world and it didn't falter once. Towards the end of the concert my mom and I went up to the stage which was really cool because I could have touched him if I had wanted to. After the concert we met the piano player and bongo player and they are both great guys.

(2010) Third Eye Blind/Joshua James: I've already written a blog post about this band and Joshua James so all i'm going to say is that they are amazing. If you want to know more about them read my other post. :)

(2010) Rick Springfield: I wrote about Rick Springfield in the same post as Third Eye Blind and Joshua James so if you'd like to know details please read that post. But for now I'll just say that he's spectaculor.

My least favorite bands that I saw (so far) have been Black Stone Cherry and Saving Abel. I really can't say a favorite because that would be most of them.
*I had a lot of fun writing about Third Eye Blind, Joshua James, and Rick Springfield after I saw them so I think that when I go to future concerts i'm going to do a post about them.

Concerts

Brad Hargreaves and Me

Joshua James and Me

So recently I have gone to two concerts and i'd love to tell you all about them!

First I went to see Third Eye Blind. Now I have been a fan of Third Eye Blind since I was little so when I found out that they were going on tour I freaked out and knew that I had to go. If you haven't seen them yet then I suggest that you go to their website, find a place that they are coming near you and GO! They were so amazing live! Stephan Jenkins' voice is so different from any other artist and it sounds just as good live as it does on an album. He also has an amazing presence onstage and he connects to everyone in the audience. And he is also hilarious! The band is equally amazing!
They performed some of there older songs such as Semi-Charmed Kinda Life and Jumper which really got the crowd going. But it was the songs from their new album that had me excited. Their new album is called Ursa Major and it is so so good! So if you are a fan of Third Eye Blind go get their new album and go see them in concert, you will NOT regret it.
After the show I got a chance to meet the new guitarist, Chris and Brad who is the drummer. They were so nice in person and I got some great pictures. I was also SO excited because when I went to get the picture taken with Chris he told me that he was really excited. I asked him why and he told me that it was because I was his first fan picture. OH MY GOSH! Can you believe that?! I almost cried I was so excited! :)
The next person i'm going to talk about is Joshua James who opened for Third Eye Blind. Now i'm going to be honest and admit that I had never heard of this guy before the concert but after he came on stage I couldn't believe that I hadn't heard him sooner! He has such a great voice and it's completely original. After the concert was over and before I met some of TEB I went and bought Joshua's newest album Build Me This. I also got a chance to meet him which was amazing because he is so genuine! I loved this guy and I think you will too so go and check him out!

The second concert that I went to was Rick Springfield and all I have to say is wow! He was unbelievable! He got into the crowd. And people when I say that he got into the crowd I mean he literally got into the crowd! It was wicked and everybody freaked out. He also brought some people up on stage with him to help him sing which is pretty rad if you ask me. I would definatly recommend going to see him if you get the chance because it's a show you'll never forget. Obviously he performed Jessies Girl, if he wouldn't have I think there would have been a huge amount of dissapointed people! He was promoting his newest album though which is Venus In Overdrive. Before the concert I hadn't listened to the whole cd, I had only heard the song "What's Victoria's Secret" which is a great song. After the concert I went back to the merch seller and bought the cd because I loved every song that he sang. I have listened to the cd over and over again and I am still not sick of it. It is so good. So like I said for Third Eye Blind and Joshua James go out and buy Rick Springfields new cd Venus In Overdrive and if you get the chance go see him in concert.

{I am not being paid to say any of this and I was not given the tickets I bought them myself. Everything that I have said is my honest opinion in no way was I asked to say this}

Skillet

Skillet "Comatose" 2006

Rebirthing: Rebirthing is about someone who is spiritually dead. They feel as if their life is meaningless and then they get saved by God. Now they live their life for God and Jesus. It's a great Christian Rock song because it has a beautiful message about God but I also love it because it's serious rock.

The Last Night: This is honestly one of my favorite songs in the world. The meaning behind it is brilliant and the instrumentals are seriously amazing. This song is sung by John and Korey and their voices go extremely well together. I've read that John said when he sings his part it represents God and Korey's part represents a teen. Although that makes it very inspiring I also feel like this song is perfect when you have a friend going through something like this. I feel like you take on Johns part of the song because you want to be there for you friend. The song is about a girl who is going through a very hard time. She's cutting her wrists and her parents are always breaking her down. Johns part (the part of God) is saying that he's going to save her. "This is the last night you'll spend alone. Look me in the eyes so I know you know I'm everywhere you want me to be. The last night you'll spend alone, i'll wrap you in my arms and I won't let go. I'm everything you need me to be."

Yours To Hold: Alright so I know that this is Christian Rock so the songs are about God but this is the reason that I love Skillet: even though the songs are about God they also can take on different meanings. "I'm stretching but you're just out of reach. I'm ready when you're ready for me. And i'm waiting for the right time, for the day I catch your eye to let you know that i'm yours to hold." I feel like what he's saying is that God is waiting for the person to reach out to him. He's there to comfort you when you are down and even though you may not actually hear him talk back to you he is listening. I also think this song could be taken as a song about someone who loves somebody from afar. "I see you standing here but you're so far away. Starving for your attention, you don't even know my name." It's as if he sees this person's pain and he wants to help them because he loves them. Either way you look at it it's an amazing song.

Better Than Drugs: The meaning in this song is exactly what the title says. He's saying that Gods love is better than drugs. "You're better than drugs. Your love is like wine. Feel you coming on so fast, feel you coming to get me high. You're better than drugs. Addicted for life. Feel you coming on so fast, feel you coming to get me high."

Comatose: The way that I take this song is that he kind of ventured away from God. It's as if he was tempted to go in other directions and now he's saying that he regrets it all and wants to be close to God again. If you like rock then you'll love this song. John Cooper has one of the greatest voices in the world to me because he doesn't sound like anybody else i've ever heard.

The Older I Get: I've heard that John wrote this song about his father and dealing with his broken family. You might have a different perspective on it or you might not. It all depends on what you feel when you listen to it. "I was sitting there waiting in my room for you. You were waiting for me too, and it makes me wonder...The older I get will I get over it? It's been way to long for the times we missed. I didn't know that it would hurt like this but I think the older I get maybe i'll get over it. It's been way to long for the times we missed, I can't believe it still hurts like this."

Those Nights: This is my favorite song on this cd because it has everything I want in a song. It has great instrumentals and awesome lyrics. I think almost everyone who listens to this song would be able to relate to it. He's talking about spending all of his time with this one person who helps him through everything bad just by being there with him. I think most of us have atleast one person like that. They don't have to say anything because just hanging out with them makes everything alright. "Stay up late and we'd talk all night in a dark room lit by the tv light. Through all the hard times in my life those nights kept me alive."

Falling Inside The Black: This song is in one word: intense. It is very catchy (and I don't mean in a Lady Gaga rah rah ah ah ah way) It's going to make you want to listen to it over and over again. It's a very in your face type of song. What I mean by that is that there is so much going on you can't get away from it. That being said I don't know why you'd want to get away from it because it's amazing. The way I see it is he is saying that he is going deeper and deeper into the darkness and he is trying desperatly hard to not succomb to the black. He's asking God for his help to bring him back to how he used to be.

Say Goodbye: Beautiful and heartbreaking are the words that come to mind when I hear this song. I'm certain that almost everyone has felt these lyrics before. Unfortunatly sometimes relationships or even friendships fade. You grow up and grow apart even though it's killing you. You don't want to lose them and you're begging them to stay. "Don't say goodbye cause I don't wanna hear those words tonight. Cause maybe its not the end for you and I. And although we knew the time would come for me and you don't say anything tonight if you're going to say goodbye."

Whispers In The Dark: The begining of this song is so great because it starts off somewhat chill and then BAM! I've read that John said this song is about the love that God has for us. The way the lyrics are written it's as if John is singing for God. John is speaking the words that he feels God would say. In other Skillet songs you hear John speaking to God so it's really great that he switched it around and is now speaking for God. "I will be the one that's gonna hold you. I will be the one that you run to. My love is a burning consuming fire. No you'll never be alone. When darkness comes you know i'm never far. Hear my whispers in the dark." Another cool thing about this is that it's kind of a follow up to the song Falling Inside The Black. Because in that song John is asking God to help him from going further into the black and in this song it's like God is telling him he will.

Looking For Angels: Amazing and insperational is what this song is. He's saying that the world has some serious problems in it and all most of us want is an angel to help us. We go through life looking for angels to help us with our problems. This song is so great because John speaks some of the lyrics, he doesn't sing them. I think that's pretty rad because it makes it even more unique and special. It's a beautiful song and I recommend it to everyone, especially those of you that are looking for angels.

Paramore

Paramore "Riot" 2007

For A Pessimist I'm Pretty Optimistic: I think that this song is about someone who let someone else down. She says, "I never wanted to say this, you never wanted to stay. I put my faith in you, so much faith, and then you just threw it away." Many people believe that this song was written about the former member of Paramore, Hunter Lamb, who quit the band in 2007. It would explain some of the lyrics like the ones I just mentioned, but i'm not making any guarantees that this song is about him. That said, this is a great song if you have ever felt like you put a lot of trust in someone and then they just quit on you.

That's What You Get: I am in love with this song because it is so honest. Relationships aren't always rainbows and sunshine, sometimes they are more like rain and dark skys. This song is about being blinded by love. Sometimes we love someone so much we let all of the bad things go even when they shouldn't be. You take the blame for things you shouldn't but you don't seem to care because you are in love. One day you are going to get fed up with it. You're going to realize that you aren't going to take the blame for things that the other person did. This song is about all of that. My favorite part of the song is, "Why do we like to hurt so much? I can't decide. You may have made it harder just to go on. And why all the possibilities, well I was wrong. That's what you get when you let your heart win."

Hallelujah: I believe that this song is about waiting and waiting for something you want to happen and then it finally happening. When your dreams come true or you get something that you really want you don't want to let it go. You aren't going to give up until you have it, and once you have it you aren't going to let it go. This is one of my favorite tracks off of this album because I think it's inspiring and beautiful.

Misery Business: The first time that I heard this song was on MTV and it was the acoustic version. It was that first time that I heard them that I fell absolutely in love with them. This song is about how she wants this guy but he has a girlfriend. His new girl is a huge..well..bitch and Hayley doesn't get why he is dating her. Hayley waits for him and finally she gets him, only problem is now the other girl is super pissed off at Hayley. But even the though girl now has it out for Hayley she doesn't care and she just smiles about it. One of my favorite parts of this song is, "Second chances they don't ever matter, people never change. Once a whore you're nothing more, i'm sorry that'll never change." I read that Hayley said that this is one of the most shameful songs on the record and it's really important to her to get out all of these things shes been holding in for a long time. Also she hopes that people will understand how important it is to let go. {Side note: This song is a great song to listen to if one of your friends betrayed you}

When It Rains: This song could have a few different interpretations. One is that it could be about someone who hurt themselves. She says, "How could you do it? Oh I, I never saw it coming. I need the ending so why can't you just stay long enough to explain." That to me sounds like someone who has comitted suicide. She is asking why they did it and she wishes that they were here to explain what they were thinking. This song could also be about someone cheating. You wish the person would just tell you why they did it but they just leave. Either way this song is very beautiful and it's a must listen.

Let The Flames Begin: I love this song because she's talking about people trying to bring you down and you don't let them. The line "I'll give it all my oxygen, so let the flames begin" is like saying she's providing the fuel to let them burn her but it's not going to happen. She isn't going to be hurt by what they say and I think that is a great attitude to have. We should all think like that because then maybe we wouldn't get our feelings hurt so quickly. So the next time somebody trys to push you down listen to this song and remember to not let what they say get to you.

Miracle: In this song she is talking about how she hasn't been living life to the fullest and now she is going to let the memories fade and make new ones. She is going to take chances now and embrace the hope of a miracle. "I'm not going cause i've been waiting for a miracle. And i'm not leaving. I won't let you, let you give up on a miracle when it might save you." That to me sounds like she is friends with or dating someone who is about to give up and she's telling them not to. She doesn't want them giving up on this miracle that could make there life better.

Crushcrushcrush: So a lot of people have said that they think this song is about her having a crush on a guy and he doesn't like her back. I sort of think that but I also believe that there is more to it. I think that it's about a guy who likes her but won't admit it. She says in the begining of the song that his eyes are always glued to her and it makes no sence. I'm thinking that his friends are the ones who are making him stay away from her. This is sad for her because she likes him and she wants to spend time with him but she knows it isn't going to happen.

We Are Broken: I think that this song is about losing your innocence. What I mean by that is losing your hope. That innocence that makes us believe in ourselves, in our dreams. There is a lot going wrong in the world and all we want is for everything to be better and safe. We hide in our homes because the outside world beats us up sometimes. "Keep me safe inside, your arms like towers tower over me. Cause we are broken, what must we do to restore our innocence and all the promises we adored? Give us life again cause we just want to be whole."

Fences: First off I want to say that this song has a great beat and is very catchy. You will want to listen to this song over and over again so be prepared. This song sounds like it's about celebrities who are being torn apart by the pressures of being famous. "Just blame the limelight. Don't look up just let them think theres no place else you'd rather be. And it's obvious that you're dying, dying. Just living proof that the cameras lying. And open wide, cause this is your night so smile."

Born For This: Alright so I read that Hayley was feeling bummed one day because of the way the recording was going for the new album. She was also upset because of the bad things that critics and other people were saying about the band. She went home, got online and read some great things that the fans said. She then decided that the band didn't need the approval of magazines and critics as long as the band and the fans were having fun. After coming to this realization she wrote this song.

Kelly Clarkson

Kelly Clarkson "All I Ever Wanted" 2009

My Life Would Suck Without You: I adore this song because it is super catchy and so much fun to sing along to. It's not a serious song which is obvious just by the title. I think that Kelly was just having fun with this song, which really does show. In case you've been locked in a closet somewhere and haven't heard this song then I'll tell you what it's about. She's talking about a guy she's dating, they argue a lot but they are meant to be together. Even though he drives her crazy sometimes her life wouldn't be good without him. I love that instead of a sappy song about love you get a fun song about love that is very blunt and speaks the truth. This is a must listen track!

I Do Not Hook Up: This song is like my theme song which some of you might find a tid bit silly. The reason I say this is my theme is because i'm not one of those girls who hook up with everyone. She's says in this song that she's not the kind to just hook up with someone, she falls for them. I don't know about you but I totally relate to that. This guy sounds like he's had some issues with past relationships and Kelly wants to help him but she wants a relationship with him not just a hook up. Also in case you weren't aware of this little fact, Katy Perry is the original singer of this song. She wrote it and had planned on putting it on her album but it got bumped. The song lyrics seem to fit Kellys personalitly more but the beat of the song fits Katys more. I'm a fan of both versions so I really recommend that you check them both out. Also instead of saying, "Keep your hand on my hand, your heart on your sleeve." Katy says, "Keep your thing in your pants, your heart on your sleeve."

Cry: This song will cut you deep believe me. It's so insanely beautiful because it's so honest. She's talking about how she was with this guy and they broke up. All of these people keep commenting on what a great relationship the two of them had and Kelly puts on a brave face when deep inside it's breaking her heart. Kelly is one of the most talented singers out there and she shows that talent in this song. "I'm talking in circles, i'm lying they now it. Why won't this all go away? Is it over yet? Can I open my eyes? Is this as hard as it gets? Is this what it feels like to really cry?"

Don't Let Me Stop You: Here is another song that i'm sure many of us feel could be written for us. She's talking about how she's in a relationship and usually she doesn't bring up her feelings when she's upset. But now she's noticing that her boyfriend doesn't seem to be as committed to their relationship as she is and she feels she has to say something. So she tells him that if he doesn't want to be in the relationship anymore then leave. She cares about him so of course she doesn't want to lose him but she knows that if he leaves she'll be fine. She's not going to stop him if he doesn't want to be with her. "Don't let me stop you from doing what you wanna do. You don't want to stick, trust me it's cool. Take no chance, get over you. No don't let me stop you. If you wanna leave baby you can leave. Just don't pretend you're into me if it ain't true. No don't let me stop you."

All I Ever Wanted: This is a great song because she's talking about this guy who wants to be with her one minute and then the next he's gone. She's crazy about him and she's saying that all she ever wanted was him. He seems to come back to her whenever it's convenient for him and she's finally realizing what he's doing. So now instead of saying that all she ever wanted was him she's saying that all she wants is to get over him. It's not cool to mess with peoples feelings the way the guy in this song is doing because it hurts. When you act like him you are seriously messing with peoples emotions and Kelly explains that in this song.

Already Gone: This is a very beautiful song and i'm pretty sure that most of you out there that have heard it agree with me. In this song she is talking about a relationship she had with this guy. They cared for each other but the relationship wasn't meant to be. Even if they would have tried harder it still would have ended. She leaves him because she knows that if she stays around he will never find true happiness, and that is all she really wants for him. "You know that I love you so. I love you enough to let you go." It's breaking her heart to break up with him but she knows it's for the best. Throughout the song you get the vibe that she's trying to convince herself that what she did was the best decision. She keeps thinking about how much she loves him but then quickly says to herself that leaving him was the only way he could be happy.

If I Can't Have You: This song is very pop so of course it will make you want to dance. She is saying that even though she knows that there are other guys out there that she could be with she doesn't want them. The only guy she wants is this dude in the song she's singing about. It's him or nothing. Plain and fricken simple.

Save You: I believe that this is the most beautiful song on this entire album. I also believe that this is one of the greatest songs ever. She is saying that she wishes that she could have saved this person from whatever happened to them. She doesn't know why she wasn't there when everything was going wrong and now she regrets not being there. I have read that the woman who wrote this song wrote it for her friend whos mother died of cancer. The woman who wrote this wanted her friend back home to know that she was thinking of her and wanted to be with her so she wrote this song. I feel that if you've lost someone close to you this song will mean very much to you.

Whyyawannabringmedown: Crazy is the word that comes to mind when I hear this song. I'm not kidding people she goes nuts! Her voice is killer and it's perfect for this song. When you listen to this you want to blast it and freak out. This person keeps trying to bring her down and she's like what the heck is your problem?! She isn't going to put up with this crap and man oh man she sure does let them know it. Seriously sick vocals!

Long Shot: Have you ever liked someone but didn't tell them because you figured that it wouldn't work out? Mhmm yeah well apperently Katy Perry and Matt Thiessen (a.k.a. the frontman of Relient K) have been there too because they wrote this song. In this song Kelly is singing about how she likes this guy but she's not sure she wants to do anything because she figures it won't work out. But then she decides to give it a shot and see what happens. She realizes that even though it might not work out between them if she doesn't admit her feelings to him she will regret it.

Impossible: This song is about overcoming obstacles in life. It's about looking past what people say about things being impossible and making them possible. Sure sometimes you might fail but that is life and you'll just get back up again. You will make mistakes but you can't worry about them. "You say can't change the wind. You say won't matter anyway. Can't reach that far 'cause it's impossible. Can't rise above this place. Won't change your mind so I pray. Breaking down the walls, do the impossible."

Ready: I read that in an interview Kelly said this song is about the music industry and her struggles as an artist to be heard. "Leaping from this cliff in my thoughts. I fly like the stones in my heart. Drowning in doubt for what reason. I sit so patiently, drenched in what you want me to be. I can't escape." Now if you haven't heard this song yet I want you to know that even though the lyrics I just mentioned make the song sound slow and kind of sad it's not. It's a very uplifting song in my opinion. It has a great beat and great vocals as usual.

I Want You: I have to be honest with you, when I first heard this song I thought of the movie Bring It On. It's not a song that we are used to hearing from our dearest Kelly. I'm not sure how I feel about this song yet. I like it because it's catchy but it's just not fitting for Kelly. She's talking about a guy who has a bit of an attitude, he hates his job, and he has a short fuse but for some reason she loves him. He makes her smile and she's very happy with him. It's a very sweet pop song.
WARNING: This song will make you think of people holding hands and skipping through a field of daisies with super cheesy smiles on there faces.

If No One Will Listen: This is a truely beautiful song. It's about her being there for someone who is going through a very hard time. "If no one will listen, if you decide to speak. If no one is left standing after the bombs explode. If no one wants to look at you for what you really are, I will be here still." This is a very touching song and I hope you go listen to it.

SafetySuit

SafetySuit "Life Left To Go" 2008

Someone Like You: I would just like to start off by saying that SafetySuit has been one of my favorite bands since the moment I heard them. Douglas Brown has such a soothing and beautiful voice that I could listen to all day. As for this song I think if you listen to it you will instantly love it. He's saying in this song that if he was to become a better person like she is would she want to be with him. He cares about her very much which is obvious and he's willing to do anything to keep her. He wants to be a better person for her and I think that's beautiful.

Apology: I want a guy to sing a song like this to me and I think if you are a girl and you listen to this you'll feel the same way. He's saying that the way he's been acting was wrong and he's so sorry for what he said to her. He is completely in love with this girl and he wants her to except his apology because he doesn't want to be with out her. This song is great all the way around and I suggest you go and listen to it! "It's all my fault today. I'm sorry for the way I was to you. It's all so wrong you see and I'm sorry for the words I say to you. But if you ask me I will go, anything for you. But if you ask me I will go, cause baby I need you."

Find A Way: Seriously i'm so not kidding, I want a guy just like this singer. These songs are so pure, true and full of emotion. This song is about how he always wants to be with this girl and he wants to savor every minute with her. I think if you listen to this track you should be prepared to play it over and over again. He has this desperation in this song that is so amazing.

Stay: And here we have the first song I ever heard by SafetySuit, ah what a beautiful moment that was. He's talking about how something is wrong with his girlfriend and he wants to know what it is or what he said to make her act this way. He's asking her to tell him what it was he said because it's hurting him to not know. He's completely in love with her and he just wants her to let him in. "So come on baby let me in and show me what this really is. Cause something must have made you say that. What did I do to make you say that to me? Something must have made you so mad. What can I do to make you say come back to me?" Just trust me when I say this song is amazing and go listen to it.

Something I Said: My honest opinion is that SafetySuit is one of the greatest bands of all time and this song helps prove why. It's about him liking this girl who liked him back but then all of a sudden changed her mind. He's wondering why and if it was something that he said. He's confused because she just left without telling him anything. So now he's sitting here wondering if he said something or if he made her do something she didn't want to do.

Anywhere But Here: This song breaks my heart because it's so beautiful. You might think that sounds a little silly or that it doesn't make sence. But i'm telling you that if you listen to it you will feel the same way. I'm sure this guy has girls going crazy for him all over the world because he makes you believe that these beautiful words he's singing are meant only for you. He also shows off his amazing vocals in this song which gives you chills. He's talking about this girl who is so amazing in his eyes and he's hoping that she'll give him a chance. She is the girl of his dreams and all he wants to do is be with her. "Cause you are beautiful inside, so lovely and I can't see why i'd do anything without you, you are. And when I'm not with you I know that it's true that i'd rather be anywhere but here without you."

Down: So for this song he's talking about how he's waiting around for this girl he likes to call him. When she's not calling him he begins wondering if he did something wrong. He's upset because he tried very hard to be the best he could be but in the end he's always alone. Then he apparently realizes that she wasn't good for him anyways because he says things like if she comes back for him he won't be there. Down also shows off the insane skills of the other members of the band which I think is really great.

The Moment: I think that he must have had a relationship in the past where a girl he loved left him wondering what he did wrong because a lot of these songs are about that. It makes you feel very bad for him but at the same time kind of glad it happened because you get these great songs out of it. He's basically saying that he doesn't understand what happened between them but he doesn't care anymore because she's clearly not the girl he thought she was. He says in the song something about how she'll probably end up with someone that's half as good as him and that is one of my favorite lines because it's like a huge slap in the face. This song is so relatable and be prepared to want to turn it up loud.

Annie: After I heard this song I was so mad that my name wasn't Annie because then this could be my song. I relate so much to this song and I think other girls can to. The girl in the song, Annie, doesn't really have that much self-esteem. When he tries to tell her she's beautiful she doesn't listen because she doesn't feel she is. This is one of my favorite tracks off of this record because it's so rediculously amazing. Every single word, every moment of music is fantastique and I recommend this song to everyone. One of my favorite parts of the song is when he says, "She needed someone to scream her name, to take her pain and thats why i'm screaming." That one line will make you heart happy because you feel like he's saying those words to you. The other part that will make you fall in love is, "And Annie you are one sight my eyes never tire of. It's like I cannot get enough of you. Annie you are the one song left in my symphony like you were made for me."

What If: The emotion these songs give off are absolutly incredible. What If is another amazing song. I think that one of the reasons I love this band so much is because you feel this music is yours. Like it was all meant for you and no one else. It's so special to find a piece of music like this and i'm so happy I have. The words in this song give off the impression that he's done something that he knows will upset her. She wants him to tell her but he's afraid that if he does it will make her sad. He wants her to know that he's sorry and that he just wants to fix his mistake because he loves her. These lyrics are very heartbreaking but it works for this emotionally beautiful song.

Gone Away: Five minutes. Thirty-six seconds. One breathtakingly beautiful song. This song will speak to you. It will take all of your problems away and make you feel whole. If you are feeling lost, if you are feeling alone, if you feel as if nobody understands you then please listen to this song. It's as if it was written for you.

Life Left To Go: This song is about suicide . He's saying that even though things seem so bad to you they really aren't. It's tragic. It's breathtaking. It's insanly beautiful. Great instrumentals and I love the use of the synthesizer. "And the mask you put on it's like words in a song but theres more to be seen. And the failures you see don't seem like failures to me here at all. Oh I'm begging you no, there's more life left to go. Oh i'm begging you please, cause I don't want you to leave."
