Paramore

Paramore "Riot" 2007

For A Pessimist I'm Pretty Optimistic: I think that this song is about someone who let someone else down. She says, "I never wanted to say this, you never wanted to stay. I put my faith in you, so much faith, and then you just threw it away." Many people believe that this song was written about the former member of Paramore, Hunter Lamb, who quit the band in 2007. It would explain some of the lyrics like the ones I just mentioned, but i'm not making any guarantees that this song is about him. That said, this is a great song if you have ever felt like you put a lot of trust in someone and then they just quit on you.

That's What You Get: I am in love with this song because it is so honest. Relationships aren't always rainbows and sunshine, sometimes they are more like rain and dark skys. This song is about being blinded by love. Sometimes we love someone so much we let all of the bad things go even when they shouldn't be. You take the blame for things you shouldn't but you don't seem to care because you are in love. One day you are going to get fed up with it. You're going to realize that you aren't going to take the blame for things that the other person did. This song is about all of that. My favorite part of the song is, "Why do we like to hurt so much? I can't decide. You may have made it harder just to go on. And why all the possibilities, well I was wrong. That's what you get when you let your heart win."

Hallelujah: I believe that this song is about waiting and waiting for something you want to happen and then it finally happening. When your dreams come true or you get something that you really want you don't want to let it go. You aren't going to give up until you have it, and once you have it you aren't going to let it go. This is one of my favorite tracks off of this album because I think it's inspiring and beautiful.

Misery Business: The first time that I heard this song was on MTV and it was the acoustic version. It was that first time that I heard them that I fell absolutely in love with them. This song is about how she wants this guy but he has a girlfriend. His new girl is a huge..well..bitch and Hayley doesn't get why he is dating her. Hayley waits for him and finally she gets him, only problem is now the other girl is super pissed off at Hayley. But even the though girl now has it out for Hayley she doesn't care and she just smiles about it. One of my favorite parts of this song is, "Second chances they don't ever matter, people never change. Once a whore you're nothing more, i'm sorry that'll never change." I read that Hayley said that this is one of the most shameful songs on the record and it's really important to her to get out all of these things shes been holding in for a long time. Also she hopes that people will understand how important it is to let go. {Side note: This song is a great song to listen to if one of your friends betrayed you}

When It Rains: This song could have a few different interpretations. One is that it could be about someone who hurt themselves. She says, "How could you do it? Oh I, I never saw it coming. I need the ending so why can't you just stay long enough to explain." That to me sounds like someone who has comitted suicide. She is asking why they did it and she wishes that they were here to explain what they were thinking. This song could also be about someone cheating. You wish the person would just tell you why they did it but they just leave. Either way this song is very beautiful and it's a must listen.

Let The Flames Begin: I love this song because she's talking about people trying to bring you down and you don't let them. The line "I'll give it all my oxygen, so let the flames begin" is like saying she's providing the fuel to let them burn her but it's not going to happen. She isn't going to be hurt by what they say and I think that is a great attitude to have. We should all think like that because then maybe we wouldn't get our feelings hurt so quickly. So the next time somebody trys to push you down listen to this song and remember to not let what they say get to you.

Miracle: In this song she is talking about how she hasn't been living life to the fullest and now she is going to let the memories fade and make new ones. She is going to take chances now and embrace the hope of a miracle. "I'm not going cause i've been waiting for a miracle. And i'm not leaving. I won't let you, let you give up on a miracle when it might save you." That to me sounds like she is friends with or dating someone who is about to give up and she's telling them not to. She doesn't want them giving up on this miracle that could make there life better.

Crushcrushcrush: So a lot of people have said that they think this song is about her having a crush on a guy and he doesn't like her back. I sort of think that but I also believe that there is more to it. I think that it's about a guy who likes her but won't admit it. She says in the begining of the song that his eyes are always glued to her and it makes no sence. I'm thinking that his friends are the ones who are making him stay away from her. This is sad for her because she likes him and she wants to spend time with him but she knows it isn't going to happen.

We Are Broken: I think that this song is about losing your innocence. What I mean by that is losing your hope. That innocence that makes us believe in ourselves, in our dreams. There is a lot going wrong in the world and all we want is for everything to be better and safe. We hide in our homes because the outside world beats us up sometimes. "Keep me safe inside, your arms like towers tower over me. Cause we are broken, what must we do to restore our innocence and all the promises we adored? Give us life again cause we just want to be whole."

Fences: First off I want to say that this song has a great beat and is very catchy. You will want to listen to this song over and over again so be prepared. This song sounds like it's about celebrities who are being torn apart by the pressures of being famous. "Just blame the limelight. Don't look up just let them think theres no place else you'd rather be. And it's obvious that you're dying, dying. Just living proof that the cameras lying. And open wide, cause this is your night so smile."

Born For This: Alright so I read that Hayley was feeling bummed one day because of the way the recording was going for the new album. She was also upset because of the bad things that critics and other people were saying about the band. She went home, got online and read some great things that the fans said. She then decided that the band didn't need the approval of magazines and critics as long as the band and the fans were having fun. After coming to this realization she wrote this song.

Kelly Clarkson

Kelly Clarkson "All I Ever Wanted" 2009

My Life Would Suck Without You: I adore this song because it is super catchy and so much fun to sing along to. It's not a serious song which is obvious just by the title. I think that Kelly was just having fun with this song, which really does show. In case you've been locked in a closet somewhere and haven't heard this song then I'll tell you what it's about. She's talking about a guy she's dating, they argue a lot but they are meant to be together. Even though he drives her crazy sometimes her life wouldn't be good without him. I love that instead of a sappy song about love you get a fun song about love that is very blunt and speaks the truth. This is a must listen track!

I Do Not Hook Up: This song is like my theme song which some of you might find a tid bit silly. The reason I say this is my theme is because i'm not one of those girls who hook up with everyone. She's says in this song that she's not the kind to just hook up with someone, she falls for them. I don't know about you but I totally relate to that. This guy sounds like he's had some issues with past relationships and Kelly wants to help him but she wants a relationship with him not just a hook up. Also in case you weren't aware of this little fact, Katy Perry is the original singer of this song. She wrote it and had planned on putting it on her album but it got bumped. The song lyrics seem to fit Kellys personalitly more but the beat of the song fits Katys more. I'm a fan of both versions so I really recommend that you check them both out. Also instead of saying, "Keep your hand on my hand, your heart on your sleeve." Katy says, "Keep your thing in your pants, your heart on your sleeve."

Cry: This song will cut you deep believe me. It's so insanely beautiful because it's so honest. She's talking about how she was with this guy and they broke up. All of these people keep commenting on what a great relationship the two of them had and Kelly puts on a brave face when deep inside it's breaking her heart. Kelly is one of the most talented singers out there and she shows that talent in this song. "I'm talking in circles, i'm lying they now it. Why won't this all go away? Is it over yet? Can I open my eyes? Is this as hard as it gets? Is this what it feels like to really cry?"

Don't Let Me Stop You: Here is another song that i'm sure many of us feel could be written for us. She's talking about how she's in a relationship and usually she doesn't bring up her feelings when she's upset. But now she's noticing that her boyfriend doesn't seem to be as committed to their relationship as she is and she feels she has to say something. So she tells him that if he doesn't want to be in the relationship anymore then leave. She cares about him so of course she doesn't want to lose him but she knows that if he leaves she'll be fine. She's not going to stop him if he doesn't want to be with her. "Don't let me stop you from doing what you wanna do. You don't want to stick, trust me it's cool. Take no chance, get over you. No don't let me stop you. If you wanna leave baby you can leave. Just don't pretend you're into me if it ain't true. No don't let me stop you."

All I Ever Wanted: This is a great song because she's talking about this guy who wants to be with her one minute and then the next he's gone. She's crazy about him and she's saying that all she ever wanted was him. He seems to come back to her whenever it's convenient for him and she's finally realizing what he's doing. So now instead of saying that all she ever wanted was him she's saying that all she wants is to get over him. It's not cool to mess with peoples feelings the way the guy in this song is doing because it hurts. When you act like him you are seriously messing with peoples emotions and Kelly explains that in this song.

Already Gone: This is a very beautiful song and i'm pretty sure that most of you out there that have heard it agree with me. In this song she is talking about a relationship she had with this guy. They cared for each other but the relationship wasn't meant to be. Even if they would have tried harder it still would have ended. She leaves him because she knows that if she stays around he will never find true happiness, and that is all she really wants for him. "You know that I love you so. I love you enough to let you go." It's breaking her heart to break up with him but she knows it's for the best. Throughout the song you get the vibe that she's trying to convince herself that what she did was the best decision. She keeps thinking about how much she loves him but then quickly says to herself that leaving him was the only way he could be happy.

If I Can't Have You: This song is very pop so of course it will make you want to dance. She is saying that even though she knows that there are other guys out there that she could be with she doesn't want them. The only guy she wants is this dude in the song she's singing about. It's him or nothing. Plain and fricken simple.

Save You: I believe that this is the most beautiful song on this entire album. I also believe that this is one of the greatest songs ever. She is saying that she wishes that she could have saved this person from whatever happened to them. She doesn't know why she wasn't there when everything was going wrong and now she regrets not being there. I have read that the woman who wrote this song wrote it for her friend whos mother died of cancer. The woman who wrote this wanted her friend back home to know that she was thinking of her and wanted to be with her so she wrote this song. I feel that if you've lost someone close to you this song will mean very much to you.

Whyyawannabringmedown: Crazy is the word that comes to mind when I hear this song. I'm not kidding people she goes nuts! Her voice is killer and it's perfect for this song. When you listen to this you want to blast it and freak out. This person keeps trying to bring her down and she's like what the heck is your problem?! She isn't going to put up with this crap and man oh man she sure does let them know it. Seriously sick vocals!

Long Shot: Have you ever liked someone but didn't tell them because you figured that it wouldn't work out? Mhmm yeah well apperently Katy Perry and Matt Thiessen (a.k.a. the frontman of Relient K) have been there too because they wrote this song. In this song Kelly is singing about how she likes this guy but she's not sure she wants to do anything because she figures it won't work out. But then she decides to give it a shot and see what happens. She realizes that even though it might not work out between them if she doesn't admit her feelings to him she will regret it.

Impossible: This song is about overcoming obstacles in life. It's about looking past what people say about things being impossible and making them possible. Sure sometimes you might fail but that is life and you'll just get back up again. You will make mistakes but you can't worry about them. "You say can't change the wind. You say won't matter anyway. Can't reach that far 'cause it's impossible. Can't rise above this place. Won't change your mind so I pray. Breaking down the walls, do the impossible."

Ready: I read that in an interview Kelly said this song is about the music industry and her struggles as an artist to be heard. "Leaping from this cliff in my thoughts. I fly like the stones in my heart. Drowning in doubt for what reason. I sit so patiently, drenched in what you want me to be. I can't escape." Now if you haven't heard this song yet I want you to know that even though the lyrics I just mentioned make the song sound slow and kind of sad it's not. It's a very uplifting song in my opinion. It has a great beat and great vocals as usual.

I Want You: I have to be honest with you, when I first heard this song I thought of the movie Bring It On. It's not a song that we are used to hearing from our dearest Kelly. I'm not sure how I feel about this song yet. I like it because it's catchy but it's just not fitting for Kelly. She's talking about a guy who has a bit of an attitude, he hates his job, and he has a short fuse but for some reason she loves him. He makes her smile and she's very happy with him. It's a very sweet pop song.
WARNING: This song will make you think of people holding hands and skipping through a field of daisies with super cheesy smiles on there faces.

If No One Will Listen: This is a truely beautiful song. It's about her being there for someone who is going through a very hard time. "If no one will listen, if you decide to speak. If no one is left standing after the bombs explode. If no one wants to look at you for what you really are, I will be here still." This is a very touching song and I hope you go listen to it.

SafetySuit

SafetySuit "Life Left To Go" 2008

Someone Like You: I would just like to start off by saying that SafetySuit has been one of my favorite bands since the moment I heard them. Douglas Brown has such a soothing and beautiful voice that I could listen to all day. As for this song I think if you listen to it you will instantly love it. He's saying in this song that if he was to become a better person like she is would she want to be with him. He cares about her very much which is obvious and he's willing to do anything to keep her. He wants to be a better person for her and I think that's beautiful.

Apology: I want a guy to sing a song like this to me and I think if you are a girl and you listen to this you'll feel the same way. He's saying that the way he's been acting was wrong and he's so sorry for what he said to her. He is completely in love with this girl and he wants her to except his apology because he doesn't want to be with out her. This song is great all the way around and I suggest you go and listen to it! "It's all my fault today. I'm sorry for the way I was to you. It's all so wrong you see and I'm sorry for the words I say to you. But if you ask me I will go, anything for you. But if you ask me I will go, cause baby I need you."

Find A Way: Seriously i'm so not kidding, I want a guy just like this singer. These songs are so pure, true and full of emotion. This song is about how he always wants to be with this girl and he wants to savor every minute with her. I think if you listen to this track you should be prepared to play it over and over again. He has this desperation in this song that is so amazing.

Stay: And here we have the first song I ever heard by SafetySuit, ah what a beautiful moment that was. He's talking about how something is wrong with his girlfriend and he wants to know what it is or what he said to make her act this way. He's asking her to tell him what it was he said because it's hurting him to not know. He's completely in love with her and he just wants her to let him in. "So come on baby let me in and show me what this really is. Cause something must have made you say that. What did I do to make you say that to me? Something must have made you so mad. What can I do to make you say come back to me?" Just trust me when I say this song is amazing and go listen to it.

Something I Said: My honest opinion is that SafetySuit is one of the greatest bands of all time and this song helps prove why. It's about him liking this girl who liked him back but then all of a sudden changed her mind. He's wondering why and if it was something that he said. He's confused because she just left without telling him anything. So now he's sitting here wondering if he said something or if he made her do something she didn't want to do.

Anywhere But Here: This song breaks my heart because it's so beautiful. You might think that sounds a little silly or that it doesn't make sence. But i'm telling you that if you listen to it you will feel the same way. I'm sure this guy has girls going crazy for him all over the world because he makes you believe that these beautiful words he's singing are meant only for you. He also shows off his amazing vocals in this song which gives you chills. He's talking about this girl who is so amazing in his eyes and he's hoping that she'll give him a chance. She is the girl of his dreams and all he wants to do is be with her. "Cause you are beautiful inside, so lovely and I can't see why i'd do anything without you, you are. And when I'm not with you I know that it's true that i'd rather be anywhere but here without you."

Down: So for this song he's talking about how he's waiting around for this girl he likes to call him. When she's not calling him he begins wondering if he did something wrong. He's upset because he tried very hard to be the best he could be but in the end he's always alone. Then he apparently realizes that she wasn't good for him anyways because he says things like if she comes back for him he won't be there. Down also shows off the insane skills of the other members of the band which I think is really great.

The Moment: I think that he must have had a relationship in the past where a girl he loved left him wondering what he did wrong because a lot of these songs are about that. It makes you feel very bad for him but at the same time kind of glad it happened because you get these great songs out of it. He's basically saying that he doesn't understand what happened between them but he doesn't care anymore because she's clearly not the girl he thought she was. He says in the song something about how she'll probably end up with someone that's half as good as him and that is one of my favorite lines because it's like a huge slap in the face. This song is so relatable and be prepared to want to turn it up loud.

Annie: After I heard this song I was so mad that my name wasn't Annie because then this could be my song. I relate so much to this song and I think other girls can to. The girl in the song, Annie, doesn't really have that much self-esteem. When he tries to tell her she's beautiful she doesn't listen because she doesn't feel she is. This is one of my favorite tracks off of this record because it's so rediculously amazing. Every single word, every moment of music is fantastique and I recommend this song to everyone. One of my favorite parts of the song is when he says, "She needed someone to scream her name, to take her pain and thats why i'm screaming." That one line will make you heart happy because you feel like he's saying those words to you. The other part that will make you fall in love is, "And Annie you are one sight my eyes never tire of. It's like I cannot get enough of you. Annie you are the one song left in my symphony like you were made for me."

What If: The emotion these songs give off are absolutly incredible. What If is another amazing song. I think that one of the reasons I love this band so much is because you feel this music is yours. Like it was all meant for you and no one else. It's so special to find a piece of music like this and i'm so happy I have. The words in this song give off the impression that he's done something that he knows will upset her. She wants him to tell her but he's afraid that if he does it will make her sad. He wants her to know that he's sorry and that he just wants to fix his mistake because he loves her. These lyrics are very heartbreaking but it works for this emotionally beautiful song.

Gone Away: Five minutes. Thirty-six seconds. One breathtakingly beautiful song. This song will speak to you. It will take all of your problems away and make you feel whole. If you are feeling lost, if you are feeling alone, if you feel as if nobody understands you then please listen to this song. It's as if it was written for you.

Life Left To Go: This song is about suicide . He's saying that even though things seem so bad to you they really aren't. It's tragic. It's breathtaking. It's insanly beautiful. Great instrumentals and I love the use of the synthesizer. "And the mask you put on it's like words in a song but theres more to be seen. And the failures you see don't seem like failures to me here at all. Oh I'm begging you no, there's more life left to go. Oh i'm begging you please, cause I don't want you to leave."

Hey Monday

Hey Monday "Hold On Tight" 2008

Set Off: The first song off an album sets the mood for the entire album-in my opinion-and apparently Hey Monday was aware of this because they started off the album with an awesome song. Set It Off is one of those songs that I just jump around to and sing to because it has a great beat to it and it's just fun to sing. The other thing that makes this song so great is the fact that it's basically saying screw you to the world. The message is that you don't care what other people think.

How You Love Me Now: A lot of people-including myself-have said that Hey Monday is like a knock off of Paramore. Don't get used to me saying this but I was wrong. Yes there are a few similarities between the two bands, first being that it's a band made up of all guys except for the lead singer. The other similarity is that, like Hayley Williams, Cassadee Pope has an incredible voice. I will say I don't think hers is as strong as Hayley Williams but that's just my opinion. I also want to say that Hayley Williams has a voice unlike any other so comparing the two of them together isn't really fair. How You Love Me Now is the first song that I ever heard by this band and as soon as I heard it I went online and ordered the cd. I didn't even bother to check out the other songs because I had faith that if their other songs were as good as this one that this would be a great album. I was right. This song is about a guy who is hanging out with this girl who really likes him but then she sees him messing with these other girls. She gets sick of his "but baby I don't love her like I do you please just take me back" boo hoos and kicks him to the curb. This song is so relatable so I really think you should give it a listen.

Homecoming: The begining of this song reminds me off seeing a twinkling light because it's so calm and beautiful. Then it transforms from a twinkling light to fireworks going off like crazy. Homecoming is another hit off of this album and if you listen to it you'll see why. I guess you could interpret this song in different ways but the way I see it is that this girl is dating this guy and they break up. She leaves and when she comes back home she keeps thinking about how things were when they were together and how much she cared about him. Soon after she realizes this she also comes to the revelation that they won't get back together because he's moved on. Oh so many of us have had a situation just like this or somewhat like this happen to us and if it has then here is your song.

Obvious: Another great song off of this album with great vocals and awesome instrumentals. You'll want to blare this song in your car and bob your head to it. It's about this girl who finds this boy and she really wants him. She knows that they are going to be together and she's just waiting for him to realize this too and make his move.

Candles: Candles is probably the most beautiful track off of this album in my opinion. It's about a girl who has been so upset because her and her boyfriend broke up. She's spent all of this time being heartbroken and now she's finally gotten her closure and is ready to move on. She has come to realize that even though she is alone she's going to be fine. I think this song has a great message and seriously it's worth your time. "Blow the candles out. Looks like a solo tonight but I think i'll be alright."

Run, Don't Walk: I like this song because it's very upbeat but has a great meaning. Sometimes you feel somewhat lost and you just want to get a change of scenery. You want to run away and it doesn't matter to you where you go as long as you can go. It's also sweet because she's talking about the person she's with and how she doesn't care if they get lost as long as they get lost together. "I don't care where we are or where we're headed to. But I know i'm lost, I'm lost with you."

Josey: Another great song because it has a great meaning but it's wrapped in an upbeat package. She's talking about a girl named Josey who is going through a rough time and is drinking all of the time. She wants to stop but then she just ends up doing the same things all over again. In the song she's telling Josey that things will be fine because she's just going through a phase. "Josey don't you worry, it's just a phase you're going through. Someday you will know just what to do. Josey, it's alright. Slap the hand that just keeps pouring. It doesn't matter, just do something."

Hurricane Streets: Awesome song because yet again it has a great meaning. She's talking about this "hurricane" being something that's messing things up in your life. Then she's saying that you need to clean up the mess. Don't worry about what's happened before because it doesn't matter. "Live faster, live stronger. Better speed up or get blown over. Time's wasting, how much longer before I get myself free of these hurricane streets."

Arizona: Another one of my favorites off of this album so of course I think you should listen to it. It's about a girl who lives in Florida and likes this guy who lives in Arizona. She drives all this way to be with him and when she gets there she realizes that he wasn't worth the drive. She's bummed about it because she drove so far to be with this guy she liked and then as soon as she get's there she realizes that it was a complete waste.

Should've Tried Harder: This is a really good track because many of us (especially girls) have been in a situation like this. You have a guy in your life and he's treating you like crap and you get sick of it. As soon as you let him now that you don't want to be with him anymore he's begging for your forgiveness. You just want to tell them that if they wouldn't have been such a jerk in the first place then you wouldn't want to break up with them. They should have been better to you when they had the chance. "If you wanted to be my only one. If you wanted to see this happen. Maybe you, you should've tried harder. If you thought I would leap into your arms everytime I would see your face then maybe you, you should've tried harder."

6 Months: This is a very sweet love song. I'm very happy with this song because most of the tracks off of this album are fast paced so even though they have great lyrics they kind of lose that special thing. But this song is on the slower side and it's just so beautiful. She's talking about this guy she's in love with and they both know that they are meant for one another. She speaks the words we feel when we love someone, which makes this so special. "Everything you say. Everytime we kiss I can't think straight. But I'm okay. And I can't think of anybody else who I hate to miss as much as I hate missing you. So please give me a hand, so please just take my hand."

Tokio Hotel

Tokio Hotel "Scream" 2008

Scream: This is a great song to start the album off with because it makes you want to jump and kick stuff. It's about people always telling you what to do. "You get up and somebody tells you where to go to. When you get there everybody's telling you what to do." People are constintently telling other people what to do and how to act and this song is about just that. He's saying that everybody is bossing you around and they never even ask you how you feel, so you need to scream and let it all out. "Scream 'til you feel it. Scream 'til you believe it. Scream. And when it hurts you scream it out loud."

Ready Set Go: This was the first song that I ever heard by Tokio Hotel and the song that started my love for them. This song is one of my favorite songs of all time because it's fantastique all the way around. The lyrics are so powerful and I think that's one of the things that make it so special. It's about defying what people tell you and reaching for your goals and dreams. (Atleast that's what Bill, the lead singer, said in an interview.) I definatly recommend this song to everyone because it will inspire you.

Monsoon: Monsoon is one of the most beautiful songs on this cd because it has great lyrics and the instrumentals are breathtaking, in my opinion. The other reason that this song is so amazing is because there are a lot of interpretations of it. Almost every person i've talked to about this song has a different reason why they love it and relate to it. My interpretation of it is that it's about love. I think it's about going through all of this bad stuff in your life but it's all okay and you'll get past it because you've found the love of your life. It's like the bad stuff doesn't matter anymore as long as you have your loved one by your side.

Love Is Dead: Now here is a good break up song if you ask me. It's about someone who has broken your heart and its hurts so badly because you were very much in love with them. You feel all alone and your heart is breaking. He says, "We die when love is dead." Which I suppose you could feel differently about. I feel that what he's saying is that without the one you love you don't feel whole, like you can't live without this person. If you've felt like this before then I recommend this track because you can relate to it and it's not like other songs about heartbreak.

Don't Jump: Powerful is the word I would use to describe this song. He's talking about suicide and how things will always get better. You might feel like everything is going wrong and you can't go on any longer because you feel so lost, but things will look brighter eventually. "I scream into the night for you, don't make it true don't jump. The lights they won't guide you through, they're deceiving you don't jump. Don't let memories go of me and you. The world is down there, out of view please don't jump."

Live Every Second: Scream is a wicked album and Live Every Second is just another one of the awesome songs on it. This song is about living life to the fullest. It's saying you can't have regrets because the past doesn't matter it's the future that's important and you have do live every second before it's to late. This is a great alternative rock-like song that you want to blare. "Live every second here and now, don't let go before it's to late."

On The Edge: I think this song is about a girl who cuts herself. He says, "Her first time on the edge. The scars will stay forever, side to side with death." I think when he says side to side he's talking about the way she's cutting her wrists. It's all about a girl who wants more out of life and she's releasing all of her pain through cutting herself and one day she goes to far. "This last time even better. Darkness and light are blinding her sight. She's not coming back, not coming back."

Sacred: Sacred is another great song off of this album. I read somewhere that Bill wrote this song after watching the movie Titanic which would explain the part "My final wish will guide you out before the ocean breaks apart underneath me." However I don't know how factual that is. I feel that this song is either about someone he cares about or about someone who he loved who has passed away. So if you have someone you love very much that has passed away and they are "sacred" to you then this is a great song to listen to. It's a great song for anyone that means a lot to you.

Break Away: You could take this song as a song about a friendship that went bad or about a relationship that did. I'm thinking it's more about a relationship though. I think it's about when you're dating someone and they are trying to control you. They want to know what you're doing every second and you feel like you can't breath anymore. So now you break up with the person and you're telling them to back off because they can't make you stay with them. I know that i've felt like this before and i'm pretty sure that some of you guys have too. So if you have in fact felt this way then listen to this song. "I feel so claustrophobic here. Watch out! Now you better disappear. You can't make me stay i'll break away."

Rescue Me: I feel that this song is about a friendship but yet again it could also be about a relationship. He's very close with this person and they are the only person that can save him. This person has left him and he's so upset about it because they are so important to him. He feels like the walls are crumbling down on him and the only one who can help him is the person that's left him. A lot of us have felt this way so this song is super relatable. "I trusted you in every way but not enough to make you stay. Turn around, i've lost my ground. Come and rescure me. I'm burning can't you see. Come and rescue me. Only you can set me free."

Final Day: I read that this song is about Bills-the lead singer-fear of dying. He said that when he dies he doesn't want to know when it's going to happen. He wants to just live in the moment and keep enjoying life. I think that's a good way to live. If you stop being fearful of everything and just live your life then your life will probably be even better. Now i'm not saying go out and do stupid things i'm just saying don't be so afraid to try new things.

Forgotten Children: So unbelievably beautiful, that's how I feel about this song. It's about children who are forgotten by there families. They were either given up by there parents or they live with there parents but they are ignored. He's saying that even though these are just kids we all have feelings and voices and we deserve to be listened to. A lot of times kids run away and they end up dying because they can't make it out on the streets. "Just a normal day, streets turn into graves...So cold the night. The weak ones lose the fight. How many of them out there, no one seems to care." This song is so heartbreakingly beautiful and if you ever feel lost then listen to this track. "Lost and so alone, born but never known. Left all on their own forgotten children. We'll never hear a name, they carry all the blame. Too young to break the chains. Forgotten children. They see, they feel. Believe just like we do. They're laughing and crying, wanna live here like you and me."

By Your Side: I don't know how they do it but they have. This is another excellent song off this album. I love it because it's about something I think we all need, and that's someone who will be there for us. He's talking about how sometimes we feel alone and we are calling out for someone to help us but no one listens. This is my favorite part of the song, "I don't want to cause you trouble. Don't want to stay too long. I just came her to say to you turn around I am here. If you want it's me you'll see. Doesn't count far or near I can hold you when you reach me." Now how beautiful is that? I know that I want him to sing that to me that's for sure. :)

1000 Oceans: This is a very catchy song in my opinion and it's another one that could have many meanings. A lot of people see it as a song about a long distance relationship. He's in love with this girl and even though they are very far from each other he knows that one day they'll be together. He just wants her to trust that they'll be together and he's begging for her to not leave him. "I know somewhere there is a place just made for you and me. It all turned out a different way."
