Cassadee Pope

Okay so first let me start off by saying that I love Cassadee Pope and I love Hey Monday. I believe that i've even done a review of one of their cds on here. So with that being said i'm going to go into my issue.
I do not for one second believe that Cassadee should have won The Voice. It's not fair and she took someone else's shot. I'm not just mad that she won either, i'm mad that she was even on the show.
When Cassadee first auditioned she had a video message from Pete Wentz wishing her luck. Now to me that's a problem. If you have someone as famous as Pete Wentz wishing you luck (and you have that connection to him) then you shouldn't be auditioning for a singing competition.
Secondly she was/is dating one of the dudes from All Time Low. All Time freaking Low! Okay almost everybody knows who that is and they love them. They are widely popular. Why is the girlfriend of one of them auditioning for a singing competition?
My next issue is that she's already received wide success with her band Hey Monday. Now I know that they did break up but so have a lot of bands. Just because a band breaks up doesn't mean that they don't get back together.
I know that they said it was fair for her to be on the show because she was auditioning as a solo artist, not as a band. But to be quite honest I don't give a shit. She still has been signed. She still is well known. She has a buhhhhzillion twitter followers. A crap ton of hits on her videos on youtube. So I don't care how much you tell me that she had a right to be on the show I will always disagree.
I mentioned to my friend (who loves Cassadee) that while it's fun to see someone you love on a show like that it's not fair. I ADORE Hayley Williams. There was a moment when Paramore was having some serious issues and she could have gone solo. If she would have come on the Voice I would have been like OMG Hayley! I would've loved to see her perform week after week, yes. But because she is already so established it wouldn't be right. She'd be taking the place of someone who deserved it. Someone who didn't have the same connections as her.
All in all I think Cassadee is great and she did put on a good show. But at the end of the day i'm still pissed that she won. And if some of the other people on that show don't make it any further in their career because they didn't win that title I hope she thinks about that.

Concerts: Update

In May of 2010 I posted an entry about all of the concerts i've been to. I've gone to a few more since then and I wanted to do an update. If you haven't read my other post i'll put a link on the bottom of this entry. Thanks for reading!

(2010) Orianthi/Jesse James: This concert was a blast! We got to go right up to the stage which was incredible and Orianthi can rock her heart out. Jesse James opened for her and while she's a good singer and her songs are catchy...she's kind of irritating. I would love to go see Orianthi again! We did get a chance to meet her and there are pictures on my blog showing them.

(2010) Everclear: Oh my Gawd. I have loved Everclear since I was a wee tot. Art Alexakis is so damn good i'm telling you. They put on a great show. There was a new lineup, the only original member being Art Alexakis. After the show we did get a chance to meet him and he was super nice. I would definatly go and see them again.

(2010) My Darkest Days/Hinder: I had never heard of My Darkest Days until this concert and let me just tell you what...they are so damn good! You have no idea how good. I fell so in love with them that I preordered their cd that night! We got a chance to meet the band after they performed and they were all really nice guys. I've already seen Hinder before so they already had my heart. However the first time I saw them I was SOOOOOOOO far away I could barely see anything. This time I was resting my arms on the stage. Austin Winkler sweat dripping inches away from me. Ahhh yes...Good concert.

(2010) Tesla: Going to see Tesla was a complete spur of the moment kind of thing. We were given tickets on Friday and went on Saturday. They put on a hell of a show. My mom has always had me listen to them so i've grown up in love with them. We didn't get to go up front for this one so that of course was a huge bummer but for the last song we did get to walk up closer. They were awesome and i'd love to see them agian.

(2010) Avenged Sevenfold: Hands down best concert i've ever attended. Fire? Check. Mad ligh show? Check. Man hanging from ceiling? Check. These guys were so incredible! I'm telling you right now that if you have not seen them you need to go out right now and buy some tickets! They also did a tribute to Jimmy "The Rev" Sullivan who was their drummer. It was beautiful and i'm pretty sure there wasn't a dry eye in the house.

(2011) Dokken/Skid Row: I will be honest and say that I did not have high hopes for Dokken. I haven't listened to much by them so I was a little uncertain as to whether or not i'd enjoy myself. However once they got on I thought to myself, "Self? Why have you not been listening to this band?!?!?!" They were really great and very interactive with the audience. Skid Row came on next and they blew me away. I've seen them before and they were incredible so I didn't think they could out due themselves....They did.
